Silly Season 2018

Did Mir chose Suzuki or HRC didn't choose Mir? :D

But yeah certainly, the best bike on the grid is available and it seems that a lot of riders don't want it. And why would they? They're going to MM's team, and I'm not blaming the guy but you'll never be on equal terms with him. He's got the benefit that he was breed in HRC. Plus he's one of the best

I don't think it's just that they will be the second rider, it's that he has embarrassed Pedrosa on the same machinery and Pedrosa is a better rider than anyone other than Lorenzo who has been offered the ride.

I'd love to see Lorenzo on the Honda though.

Yeah but riders like Mir or Miller would love to be on the best bike and win some races, pump up the statistics, they're not going to challenge MM right away. They're still young and there's no pressure on them to beat MM, now Jorge is a different story because he's an established, multiple world champion so comparisons would be unavoidable.

Ran into an article on an Italian sports newspaper that said HRC talked to Lorenzo, in addition to the already known contacts with Rea (which is still a question mark) Miller (who refused) and Mir (who chose Suzuki).

No one seems to want an HRC seat and if you ask me that's ...... up :D

Miller denied being approached by Honda. I guess we will be subjected to lots of disinformation in the coming days

How much younger than Marc are Jack and Joan?
I keep forgetting that Marc is still only 25.

Can we bring back the "Factory 2/Open Class" category for Suzuki into parc ferme? They're obviously never going to amount to anything.

I have to highly disagree.

Suzuki's policy is to hire young guns and turn them into top riders, like they did with Vinales. While this may seem limitating in terms of bike developing, the team works on testing and developing with Guintoli which seems to be good enough for it as of now.

It is undeniable that the bike has improved esponentially this year.

Also I personally think Davide Brivio is a great manager and I think he'll be able to bring the whole team to a constant podium-aiming level in a few years.

Last but not least, Mir is one of the most interesting prospects as of now.

Suzuki has ALL the ingredients, they only need to handle them correctly.

Suzuki's "policy" is to be mediocre.

Viñalez wasn't turned into a top rider, he was offered a seat because one shockingly became available at factory Yamaha. A seat vacated by their reigning champion no less. Viñalez would have still been a 1 race winner, no way he wins the other 3 races whilst he would have been competing on a Suzuki against Lorenzo on an M1. Name these other riders that Suzuki have groomed into a top riders?

Suzuki have never been committed to GP. They sign these young riders because they don't cost much. Why didn’t they court Lorenzo? HRC snatched him up for a quarter what Ducati paid him. Suzuki could have made him promises when he was desperate, for a bike, GSXRR, that is presumably the next best thing to an M1, his bread and 'butter'.

Suzuki improved? All I've been hearing from Yamaha riders is that their bike is ..... Maybe that's your Suzuki improvement. Suzuki will never amount to anything whilst the HRCs and Yamaha's of GP still have their foot on throat of parity. Suzuki can't even beat Ducati FFS.

Let’s see what suzuki does next year with zero concessions and two young guys who have less Motogp miles between them than the guy they fired.

Cruel, but fair.

There's a difference between policy and actual performance.
I think Holy Puck is right in that this is their policy/intention, but I think that you are correct in how things have turned out.
