Sepang Testing

Extremely happy to hear Aleix Espargaro sounding optimistic on his new Aprilia and not to mention quite a respectable 15 lap race simulation! I sincerely hope the bike proves to be a step forward on other tracks as well and that its reliable in general, given the small window they have left to get it sorted out.

Does anyone know if Aprilia confirmed what "issue" halted Aleix's race simulation on the last test day?

Marc to possibly miss first two rounds? Unsure of the accuracy of the report but seems legit.

I think it’s really doubtful. I would be surprised if he didn’t show up and attempt to collect points even though he isn’t fully healed yet. He still has another month or so before the first round and if he is capable of riding the bike now then he will be much better in a month IMO.

Its all probably a bit of a challenge set by Marc himself.

When you outclass the rest by so much, maybe he has a new goal each year ...... "I know ... lets see if I can still best them if I give them two rounds head start!"

I say he can easily.

Funny if it turned out Dorna paid him to sit out the first two just to make it more interesting. I hate watching the last three races with the championship already decided.

BTW Gigi is quoted as saying “ “The new tires probably penalized us and Honda“.
No specifics.

I have my personal suspicion that it's not all bullocks and that the truth is somewhere in the middle. As usual, I wait for a report on Autosport.com. If it gets there, then it's no rumour.

The nerve in question would be the Axillary nerve that provides motor innervation to the deltoid muscle. Repair is described with mixed results leaning towards it being worth a try rather than leaving alone.

Whatever the case, it seems like his shoulders will always be a problem and will very likely be the cause for his retirement. Only so much one can do with heavily scarred tissue. It's just not ever like the original. For everyday life, it's more than enough with adequate muscular support, but at the height of competition among the best, that's different.

Nice, now Dovi has a brand new excuse.

With MM out of equation, in the end of the year I may already listen to Dovi: "if it weren't for Vinales and Quartararo and Rins and Miller and the new Michelin tires I would have won the title."
