Suzuki continue to rule!
Sepang test: Day 1
(22/01/2007)

Suzuki, the only team in the paddock that can use the same paint for their bikes as they can their little boy's bedroom, have continued their fabulous run of not being average by topping the testing timesheets once again.

"At last our enemies are paying for their ignorance" boasted Suzuki's director of communications Paul 'Comical' Denning "the HRC coalition infidels have now entered our territory and will feel the mighty force of the prophet Garry Taylor as they quiver merciful on their knees. Now what's all this talk about hanging?"

John 'Hooligan' Hopkins momentary put down his fists to put down the fastest lap at Sepang with an impressive time of 2min 2.277 secs – over 0.75 seconds faster than his team-mate Chris 'Vermin' Vermulen in second.

"I was angry!" stated Hooligan afterwards "Very, very angry. I think this calm state of mind helped me hit, or even kick, the zone. I'm very pleased that Suzuki have build us a bike that can challenge the front runners, and when I say 'pleased' I mean 'shocked'".

The fading haircut of Valentino Rossi, without any pressure to crumble under this time, finished the day in third just ahead of his contract friendly team-mate Colin 'I still have nightmares about Assen' Edwards.

World Champion Nicky Hayden was left smirking into his beancurd-moonshine finishing the day in an impressive fifth on one of Dani's RCV mini-bikes – a head of the boring little ....... himself.
Pedrosa, in the championship that Alberto created, could only manage the eighth fastest time and was understandable dreary afterwards.

For a championship created by Honda the evil empire were forced to take some early blows to the noodle with most of their riders rooted to the Ellison end of the timesheet.
Fresh back into the championship like a bucket of rotten fish heads Zombie Barros was the best non-factory Honda rider but could only drag his carcass around fast enough to finish 12th.

Now back on top machinery Carlos Checa re-ignited his old love by throwing himself into the gravel in his usual spectacular style.
"That one was for the fans" beamed Checa afterwards "They had a tough season last year but this season I'm back and hungry for stones!"

The Hannspree pairing of Melandri and Elias trundled around in 16th and 18th positions respectively and were left to contemplate the once brilliant idea of switching to Bridgestone boots. Elias, however, was less unconcerned claiming that Sepang wasn't the one track that he was planning on riding well at this season.

At the back of the field, like a French soldier, was the newly crowned 2007 rookie of the year Sylvain Guintoli. Strong coffee and a dose of garlic-fever were the order of the day as the newby Frenchie finished over five seconds slower than Hopkins in a time that would have embarrassed James Ellison.

The testing continues tomorrow.

Richo you got me, you know I've slagged off the Suzuki with great gusto but, and I'm not saying the worm has finally turned, I have to admit this is their most promising looking motogp bike yet.

Well, we'll sit on the fence then. Round one this year should be a good test of the race pace and reliability of the new GSV, as opposed to the old ones which were very.. un-Suzuki-like.

I want to just sit back for a second and appreciate this thing of beauty. Performance aside, I'm very impressed with the Kawa engineers this year. What can I say? The bike is the hottest looking on the grid. All those Duct-tapi lovers can back off, cuz I'm sticking by that.
It's just so gorgeous. The bodywork looks like it was made in heaven, the green pearl paint reminds me of the supersonic ZX-12s and their take on Kawa Green. It's hot. I gotta admit, I prefered the old midship-exit exhausts, that one reminds me of the RCV. That's my only complaint. But gee, I could look at that thing all day. I'll be scouring the net looking for good pics this season, I think I'm in love
