Would be good to see but I reckon Dani Pedrosa is still a lot better than Jorge.

I am not sure that Yamaha was as good as Honda, every rider complain that it wasn’t, or at least didn’t get good result until they change from Yamaha to Honda (Barros, Biaggi, Melandri) or from Suzuki to Honda (Gibernau) just to mention some examples. Burgess definitely knows his business, but he also change with Rossi knowing what he was capable of as a rider. I find it very difficult for any great Honda rider to be able to change bike and win Back-to-Back wins and Back-to-Back Championships.
<

Obviously no other current rider is good enough to be able to do what rossi has. But all i was saying is that i think the 05 yamaha, was as good as he 05 Honda, largely due to valentinos development of course.

The only fair comparison to make would be that from riding a Honda in 2004 to a yamaha in 05 Colin Edwards performances stayed relatively steady. When Barros and Biaggi rode yamaha, it was a very different bike to the 05 bike developed by rossi. And Melandri moved to Honda in 2005 before he could get his hands on a new yamaha with all Rossi input.

I would agree, Tom. I think tin 2005 the Yamaha was the bike to have. Remember, Edwards finished 4th in the championship. That,s not a bad effort. I mean, no race wins, but there wasn't many races to win in 2005, because Rossi had it under control.
The problem with non-Rossi Yamahas is neglect. Rossi has Burgess, which is fair, but he also has the majority of Yamaha's attention, to the point where Colin dosen't get a lot of help, and Tech3 is ignored. The situation is improving a little bit, with 800s providing an almost level field, and Ducati and Yamaha beginning to realize Satellite team support and co-operation is the secret to HRC's success. But the problem remains that Yamaha concentrate too much on Rossi, which will bite them on the arse when he decides to hang 'em up.
I think Dunlops are a long way behind, Tamada has had enough chances to make a comeback, and Tech3 is a very poor team. Don't expect too much magic there.

I'm reading this from moto gp.com so no times as I can't be arsed writing the times down, riders positions only.

1. Hopkins
2. Vermeulen
3. Rossi
4. Edwards
5. Hayden
6. Capirossi
7. De pooniet (
<

8. Pedrosa
9. Tamada
10. Stoner

I agree, Tamada has had more than his fair share of chances. But tech 3 arn't really that bad, but ultimately its all up to Dunlop to get it together.

I knew my Rizla suzuki pit shirtt purachse would come in handy for this year!

Looks like they have the 800 hooked up nicley............go suzuki!

Any idea on the conditions? From the times it looks to have been bone dry.

Good on Hopper.

Thanks for that!

It's only testing, but signs look good for the zooks.

from what i can see conditions were perfect.

If Hopper used soft tyres and the rest were on race tyres, I'm disappointed, if not, I'm impressed.
