It'll be difficult to tell still as I don't think they have to run the real weight limit yet, or do they? I suspect some of the bikes might be a bit lighter than they ought to be if they don't have to conform to the race rules. Keeps us all guessing though.

It will be interesting to see if Honda has addressed thier horsepower issues. I believe I read somewhere on here where they are down on power compared to the other new machines. I think I read that on here or somewhere?
I think Hopper will put in another good test for sure.

I think if Rossi isn't fastest the Pedrosa will be regardless of what honda and yamaha have or havn't done in the break

One thing i do know is, i cannot wait to get it started

I am hanging to see how the Suzuki's go over the Sepang and PI tests.

Things looked good in the end of season tests, but that is all forgotten. This is where it all begins to happen, and the real contenders come to the front.

I get a feeling it is going to be a big year for Chris V.

Lets hops both Suzuki riders have a few more podiums this year.

I hope Crash Bandicoot can stay on the Duacti this year, I doubt it tho.

I think possibly people are possibly making the mistake of only predicting good things from riders that have performed well so far in testing. However if last year was anything to go by, often a different rider was upthere at each race. The Sepang circuit has proven to be good to Bridgestone runners in the past. So im going to say Melandri may now be ready to show what he can do after having a couple of Bridgestone tests under his belt. However as said before you can never count out Pedrosa or Rossi!

Its interesting how after mentioning the bridgestones you say melandri straight away, i would do the same. But what about the ducatis, maybe barros? And then there is the form suzuki showed in the autumn, or are you expecting the others to have caught or even passed their level.

What is interesting also, from my point of view, is that back when the change was from 500cc to 990cc some teams (even factory ones) kept the 500cc two stroke configuration. This meant that some satellite teams still had a year old bikes, so the difference between them all could be remarkable. Now, if all teams have a reduction from 990cc to 800cc (there are no ‘last year’ 800cc bikes) which means that even satellite teams (all of them) have to have the most resent prototypes (there are no ‘you can use our last years bike’ from any factory teams to a satellite). This has to even it all up and could make a big difference with satellite dukes or yams (Suzis and kawas do not have satellites). What do you think?

At least to start with the sattelite teams will almost be factory spec. However, as the year progresses, they probably wont receive the same parts, upgrades etc that the factory backed teams get. Or at least, wont get them as early..

I agree, Dantin Ducati for example are in their best ever position. They have new bikes, race winning tires, a young talented guy and an experienced rider worthy of podiums. Its gonn abe a competative year.

At the moment i just really want Dunlop to catch up. We just need to pray that Tamada sorts his life out and comes back on form. He did help make the bridgestone tires and the honda rcv what it was.

tamada, yamaha, dunlop....... don't sound 2 promising.

Well we know that yamaha are capable of building decent enough bikes, they are by no means a bad team. Tamada has won races and beaten the best so we know what hes got to offer when hes on form.

And the new tire rules work in Dunlops favour, so that they can develop faster in order to catch up. I have read that Tamada already thinks dunlop have a superior front tire to michelin, so all they need to do is sort out the rears.

Its not likely, but its possible that they can get up to a top 5 level by the end of the year.

that only rossi has been capable of winning on.... with michelins. but hope spring's eternal i guess. it would be nice to see dunlop get into the thick of thing's. here's hopin tom.

I think the works yamahas of the 2005 season where as good as the hondas, the difference being honda had a good group of decent riders. Yamaha had Rossi, and then Edwards, who has been underacheiving for way too long. His results on the honda were equally as bad.

i think, if u were to ask him off the record, that rossi would disagree with u on this. i agree with the rider part tho. yamaha is gonna be hurtin when he leaves.

Oh yeah no doubt, the yamaha bosses need to be browsing the 250 field for there next world champion now. I would love to see Lorenzo take the bike, that would set us up perfect for a Dani vs. Jorge battle.

One of the reasons that i feel the 05 yamaha was as good as the honda is because Jeremy Burgess said it himself. They of course had different strengths and weeknesses, but overall i think it was quite equal
