Sepang Malaysia Test Thread

what can you say....stoner impressive...rossi slowly gettin there.

The hondas are on fire.

Poor nicky...maybe he just had a bad day???

Seems Hayden lost the front today. I don't like the sound of that, I kind of thought that Ducati at least had that problem under control.

It is still Stoner's Ducati they are riding (of course with a different setup, especially in the case of Rossi) . They have not yet tested the famous 'flex package' made of revised front CF sub-frame, swingarm and 42mm forks, which was prepared following early indications by Rossi after Valencia.

If Stoner can run consistent fast times why shouldn't he? Surely to go faster he needs to keep going to the limit so he can keep improving. The fact that he was able to do 17 laps under 2.02 says that it was not just one of fast laps. The fact he had no falls suggests he was under complete control with a small margin up his sleeve. I would suggest that by the end of the test Stoner will be running consistent laps at less than 2.01 and probably a couple under 2.00. As a MotoGP fan (allegedly) why do you have such a problem with some one riding fast?

The object of your desires did well today so you should be happy. He was using 'Ducati' settings i.e. Stoner's settings rather than his own which seem to have not worked so maybe this is what has you a little depressed.

I don't know that he was using Stoner's settings - remember they had the test riders trying all sorts of new things which had never been done before by Ducati and had found something. I thought much had been said about differences in style etc to Stoner.

The 2010 ducati was an idiosyncratic and imo flawed bike; one rider was able to ride around the problems (to an extent).

If the flaw(s) cannot be fixed by development rossi will ride around it/them as stoner did, and may do a little better as he is a more controlled and less impetuous rider, but he won't win the championship.

No way he's using Stoner's settings -- he's using his own of course. But the bike is still the same, the major change seems to have been the ditching of the bigger fairing with the funny fins.

I think i know what made Rossi feel ill

Pedrosa is probably trying to lay down a fast lap whilst it is cooler like he did in Sepang 1. There is a lot at stake in the Honda pit pecking order and so far the headlines have not been about him.

WTF is up with guys getting sick over there.

Not unusual to get sick while globetrotting. Different cultures have different standards of sanitation, water, preparation of food, handling and keeping of food. You get something in your system that is foreign, it doesnt act quite right.

In Rossi's case, he has a case of the ....., like HOLY ....,

DID YOU SEE HOW ....... FAST THOSE HONDA'S ARE

hahahha I do plenty of traveling myself and you would think these guys would know what to avoid with these test being so important, but maybe it's just a bug. I just don't want to see anyone else lose any time, the closer they all get to each other, the better the racing I get to watch.

No Rossi = No interest, surprised?

Doesn't help that dorkna don't even give us good updates. I almost want to start a twitter account just to thank Mathew Birt for all the great info and pictures he's putting out for all us fans. I wonder if we fans could some how pressure the manufacturers and sponsors into making dorkna give us some kind of real coverage, with all the money that's being spent you would think they would be cramming pictures and video down anyone's throat who was even remotely interested.

Are you sure about this? Kropotkin's report seems to suggest they have.
