Sepang Malaysia Test Thread

May well be right about the pace of the Yams but it's impossible to know without full timing results. Guess we will have to wait for the reports.

It's pretty much the same story as the first test, except that Ducati have obviously started their sabotage of Hayden.

From BirtyMotogp

"all the fast guys on a soft. Rossi didn't use a soft tyre but he was happy 'cos Ducati working on hard tyre. It didn't last time"

Looks like Rossi is slowing making inroads to the front

Stoner 17 laps under 2.02.

Pedrosa 3 laps , Lorenzo 4

Nicky Hayden's Ducati just came by media centre window on back of truck. No crash damage so it obviously broke down

That would be Rossi testing the Nicky Switch. Rossi was overheard to say, "I test to see if this work, just in case Nikee be too faahst." He then reportedly collapsed from uncontrollable laughter, nearly losing consciousness before team medics reached him with oxygen. Rumors of Uccio saving the champ's life with vigorous mouth-to-mouth are unsubstantiated a this time.

Rossi still sitting a second plus off the pace which is starting to look like a pattern. Times are slower overall, but faster when compared day one to day one of each test. You would think that they would pick up where they left off from the last test but conditions may be different. Im sure the times will come down into the 2.00.400 range by the end of the test if conditions stay like they are.If Ducati has not cut the gap to 3-4 tenths by the end of this test, they might be looking at a long year. I wouldnt get my hopes up on the news that Rossi did not run the soft tires. The difference between soft and hard is not that much, its not like you pick up a half second like you could on the old q tires. Stoner's fast lap was on soft, BUT, the second fastest lap of the day was also Stoners on hard tires, in the hottest part of the day, and the difference was minimal.

If the things remain like this, Stoner Should win 2011 championship. Of cource if he doesn't start with a bad race, like last year.

Anyone know anything about the DCT controversy for the Hondas? Is it crap?

On Rossi, 0.5 by end of test. Geez those hondas are fast.

No controversy, an Italian rumor blog, obviously not happy that an Italian legend, on an Italian bike is, 1 second off the pace. They have to be cheating

yep it prob BS, the honda is just the best bike out there and has been since halfway through last season like i said it was.... ok the yam is good but an all round pakage the honda is the machine to be on.

even better now with casey to as he can put in consistant fast laps, i said last year stoner will be my favorate for this years championship and he still is.

Settle down boners, it's day one......and just like a bad poker player Stoner blows his load first up always.....Jorge, Dani and Rossi also seemed to have a good consistent rhythm.

I would like to reference a lot of the post Valencia test comments now

But let's just wait until the end before we sum up the season.....let alone this test

Seems Hayden lost the front today. I don't like the sound of that, I kind of thought that Ducati at least had that problem under control.

If Stoner can run consistent fast times why shouldn't he? Surely to go faster he needs to keep going to the limit so he can keep improving. The fact that he was able to do 17 laps under 2.02 says that it was not just one of fast laps. The fact he had no falls suggests he was under complete control with a small margin up his sleeve. I would suggest that by the end of the test Stoner will be running consistent laps at less than 2.01 and probably a couple under 2.00. As a MotoGP fan (allegedly) why do you have such a problem with some one riding fast?

The object of your desires did well today so you should be happy. He was using 'Ducati' settings i.e. Stoner's settings rather than his own which seem to have not worked so maybe this is what has you a little depressed.
