 I dont get it ....... some of you folk almost seem to be intimating that being a rossi hater ... is not a good thing ....

Its not that being a rossi hater is a bad thing, its hating on people that are hating on you for hating on them for being a rossi hater that is bad. Jeez B I thought you knew that.

You so hated having to type all that didn't you? :p

It's interesting you mention some aboriginal people not mixing with their families. I was actually speaking to an older guy and he's successful enough in whatever he's is doing(can't remember exactly, it actually could've been working with aboriginal kids). He has a nice house car etc but none of his family knows or will ever know where he lives. He goes up and visits them from time to time but refuses to let them know where he is because he believes that the moment they know where he lives a few car loads will turn up to sponge off him and destroy his house.

It sounds like you do a really worthwhile job.

Actually made sense, and a valid point.

I don't mind being called a Rossi hater, since I have actively disapproved of him personally since October 2015 rather than just of the extreme element among his fandom as had been the case prior to then.

My objection is to people who just call the proponent of any argument with which they disagree a hater and consider that to be a sufficient reply. I have tried very hard and mostly successfully I believe not to simply call people with whom I disagree "Rossiboppers" without addressing any of their arguments, and if I have ever called anyone a bopper it was a slip-up and a failure on my part as I consider that to be equally intellectually lazy.

However far the forum has degenerated threads consisting entirely of "You're a Rossi hater" and "You're a Rossibopper" would be a further regression imo.

I work for an education provider and know of many kids who have wanted to learn, to educate themselves to make a better life, only to be physically and emotionally abused by their families, being told that they will be cut off if they ever do go the education path ......... so in many ways what options are there for these kids?

You are 100% correct though with the role model of aboriginal sports people as these kids look at the successes of these sports people, see the positive outcomes, see the money (let us not kid) and see the doors open but sadly even then, often their families still resist or cause issues.

It is an extremely difficult and complex situation and many do want to help themselves but it creates other issues within their culture and some of the aboriginal people I work with do not mix with their own family (for safety reasons), it is tough.
Who knows?

No doubt they have terrible problems significant elements of which were not of their own creation for which no-one has any ready solution. Basic medical things even apart from any actual malevolence such as susceptibility to hitherto unencountered infectious diseases which arrived with European settlement as also occurred in the Americas and a high incidence of diabetes and renal disease on a Western diet. I have always wondered just on first principles rather than from professional or academic knowledge whether there is a significant susceptibility factor with the alcohol thing as well; I am fairly sure I wouldn't be here if my generations of Irish ancestors had no tolerance for alcohol.

I am not sure how good life was as nomadic tribesmen in the desert either, but they certainly didn't ask to be assimilated by European/Western civilisation.

Mea culpa.

What's wrong wth "crude bathroom humour"? - the British film industry made a killing out of it for some forty years or so.

You know if keshav and I agree then what happened must have been really ...... up. Most Casinos in america outside of vegas are on "native american" land. That is what they were given for what was stolen, casino money, its not like they actually work there. So they just get given money to spend on gambling and booze.

I was in Monument Valley one summer during the monsoon season and wanted to buy some beers from the local store while I watched and photographed a thunderstorm roll in that night. When I realised that they didn't sell alcohol and was told it was a dry county I attributed it to Mormon influence even though Salt Lake City is over 350 miles away by road. It was nothing of the sort, the reservation was on sacred ground and they didn't even serve alcohol in the restaurants.

Got some wonderful photos that night but the image uploader on this forum is so ....... prehistoric it appears to be impossible to upload them.

That be Navajo land, not to far from glenn canyon which is my favorite place to visit. The desert southwest has so much beauty to offer.

It sucks. I'd call it contamination. I wish moderators stepped in and separated off-topic posts. But of course, majority rules. Moderators want to keep the forum as alive as possible, so they will turn a blind eye. That's the trouble with small and weak forums. Result: it looks like some blog site instead of motosport discussion forum.

Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

Not so bad a week after the race imo.

Look on the other thread, some stuff on Ducati you might not see anywhere else, from someone who has a long history of being a reliable informant about matters Ducati.

The majority is the minority everywhere else so you are the majority. This forum is the minority. If you don't like it stop whining and leave.

Oh boy. Calling names? Cannot distinguish criticism from whining? Cannot tolerate different opinions? Why people with low IQ always start calling names when they do not have legit arguments. Look at that. Even a simple term as majority is completely misused. Qualifying it as demagogy would be overrating the poster.
Leaving seems like a good idea, though.

My apologies. I wasn't aware the word majority was an insult

19 posts before he got butt hurt and left. That may be a record

This is exactly what I'm talking about, dude has to be a millennial . How do you get butt hurt over the word majority and say you have been insulted. It's a ....... sickness. Reminds me of my daughter when she was around 17, I simply told her no, don't even remember what it was about, but she got all bent out of shape and I asked her wtf is your problem and she said I screamed at her when I simply told her no. At that point I let her know what getting screamed at was and she got the message.
