Ill bring us back on race topic.

Do you guys think being Aussie, is a race, or an affliction?

Affliction.

We seem to cause so much butt hurt for you guys that we must be an infection of some kind :p

What they did to the aboriginals was a travesty. No way anything like that would happen in America. What a bunch of criminals.

Serious side .......... work with many Aboriginals ..........

The worst thing white man did was introduce alcohol ........ to borrow the rest from one of the aboriginal mates 'the rest we did ourselves, you cant help a bunch of lazy c*nts' (said by a Wiradjuri).

Ok guys, back to the Zarco/ Rossi incident. IMO, RD were correct with their penalty due to the fact that it was a pure racing incident, but Rossi deliberately nailed his bike straight on. Once he was given the chance he hit the throttle as hard as he could to bring him up the the back of the Hondas. It was the same at Assen, given the opportunity he nailed it to take an unfair advantage. Some call it fine as he had no where to go, others call it cheating to gain an advantage.
I think the penalty given to Rossi was to send a message that "we're watching you and won't tolerate you using your experience to gain any more unfair advantages in the future".
I'll give the old guy his due, he's crafty as can be and thinks so fast to gain any advantage, whether fair or foul.

To be fair though Yamfan ............... what racer in the position of Rossi at the time would not have gone straight through?

The issue that has escaped discussion is that the circuit allowed it, as do many circuits by not having deterrents to running off track or as a minimum, have an impediment that forces one to slow (ie. start with asphalt and then gravel).

I have said elsewhere, good penalty, brilliant in many ways but the true test now is the consistent application

Interesting our natives have the same problem. They love the fire water way too much. But the difference i we did the rest to them also.

I like how MDub made his little plea to talk about racing, and then proceeds to do nothing of the sort himself.
I actually tried. But, when the kids get control, it's a ..... to get order restored. I am surprised about members being here since 2007, since the conversation level is at about 10 to 13 year old boy engagement. The useless profanity and crude bathroom humor is a dead giveaway that we are not in the throngs of intellectual giants or even remotely mature persons. I expect "boogers" and "Cooties" to dominate the next conversation on tires.

We did a lot to them, although a lot through misguided good intent but they also have a lot of internal problems due to the different nations that make up the one Aboriginal nation .......

Shame is that we (and I suspect you guys as well) are losing some tremendous people, culture and history out of the mess.

I agree 100% with him running on Gaz, it's the nailing the throttle right up to the back of the Hondas I have issue with. Just keeping position over Zarco wasn't enough for Rossi, he just had to take the advantage.
Hopefully as you say RD will be consistent with all rulings for all riders...

What happened here was a horrible situation that was almost entirely the fault of the whiteman. It ended with the trail of tear in which all the natives were relocated to useless land.

Yeah will agree totally that the nailing of the throttle was dodgy .......... but he is a racer and hell I bet everyone would have done the same ........ if not, were I involved in the team I would be asking why not as the aim is to take advantage of every situation possible (hell, it is why the call a safety car the catch up car in 4 wheel racing).

I genuinely reckon that if we start to see consistency then a lot of the talk should quieten down (I do not expect it to though as not all can move on), so the big test is ahead but again, credit to whoever came up with the call (I would like to see it documented and it is probably around so may seek google help from the expert) :)

It would be my pleasure if you'd just block me.

I grew up in Queens Park, I don't know exactly where you're from but when I was growing up it was one of if not the worst area in Perth though it's general shittyness was greatly underrated. There was a small area where the shops didn't have windows and the houses that had windows were normally smashed.

Anyway I absolutely agree with your mate in that many of them are their own worst enemies and they're stuck in a viscous circle with no one that they really look up to other than athletes and when they don't make it they get sucked into being alcoholic Centrelink bludgers. One of my friends came and lived with me for a time, he had a scholarship to a top school here(he wasn't particularly athletically or academically gifted but the school gives scholarships to aboriginals) after he moved out of my place he went to live with another friend of mine who are all for the most part well put together people. Eventually he moved out of there and despite having all the advantages(a what should've been great education) and lots of friends(whom he alienated over time) he ended up just like the rest of his family unfortunately. He's still a decent enough guy but he has no motivation to do anything with his life and it seems to all have happened once he reconnected back with his family.

They're stuck in a complicated situation but they have to start helping themselves though until then no amount of government support will change their situations.

Read "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" a few years back it's just ....... devastating. The unbelievable cruelty visited upon Native Americans who'd given up their lands and agreed to live peacefully on reservations, which were later, also stolen from them - the countless breaking of treaties and faithlessness of the American government are beyond comprehension to any person of conscience. To be so abused, to have your cultured pulverized and insulted for hundreds of years; it's no wonder there's such a huge alcohol and drug problem in the culture; to say nothing of suicide.

You know if keshav and I agree then what happened must have been really ...... up. Most Casinos in america outside of vegas are on "native american" land. That is what they were given for what was stolen, casino money, its not like they actually work there. So they just get given money to spend on gambling and booze.

You can't get away with saying things like that about another race in America. Even if it is true. Good post though.

No need for Duc to ever ban anyone for throwing insults my way nor should he ever censor a post directed at me. I'm sure I'm no where near the oldest participating member here, but I come from a time & place where thick skin wasn't an option.. it was a necessity. Not a chance in hell for me to be negatively impacted over some e-insults. :giggle: Would deserve an ...-whoopin for being a weak ..... if that happened. Anyone crying over internet insults would've never even made it a week in the HS I went to.

Vudu, Hater's High School, Class of '97, Valedictorian.

One thing we can agree on. These ....... millennials get all butt hurt over the simplest .... and think that calling someone a "hater" is the ultimate insult. Anyone who complains to a moderator on an Internet forum that "people are being mean to me" is a spineless .....

The conversation since 2007 has, and continues to be about Rossi and tires. Just because you and your contingent of whiners discovered the forum yesterday doesnt bring the dead horse back to life.
Im perfectly happy when things go off topic because thats when things get interesting.
Never claimed or wanted to be mature. Mature just means you've died inside and become a sheep like most of the human race.

 I dont get it ....... some of you folk almost seem to be intimating that being a rossi hater ... is not a good thing ....

I work for an education provider and know of many kids who have wanted to learn, to educate themselves to make a better life, only to be physically and emotionally abused by their families, being told that they will be cut off if they ever do go the education path ......... so in many ways what options are there for these kids?

You are 100% correct though with the role model of aboriginal sports people as these kids look at the successes of these sports people, see the positive outcomes, see the money (let us not kid) and see the doors open but sadly even then, often their families still resist or cause issues.

It is an extremely difficult and complex situation and many do want to help themselves but it creates other issues within their culture and some of the aboriginal people I work with do not mix with their own family (for safety reasons), it is tough.
