ROSSI THREATENS WITHDRAW

This guy is like Keshav* the .... that comes out of this guy's mouth never ends.

(*SE)

The relationship has broken down at Yamaha thanks to Rossi. Valentino is trying to push Lorenzo out! If Lorenzo is muscled out thanks to the considerable chickenshit influence of Rossi, we might as well give VR the trophy, let him claim his 10th "title" and hope he leaves after that. How much can one man wreck something...

Valentino Rossi amenaza con la retirada de Yamaha

With Rossi having signed for two more years with Yamaha, and Lorenzo also having been handed an offer by Yamaha, can we conclude this was utter ........ now?

If they both sign with equal status, absolutely no problem.

If Lorenzo is flirting with other teams for more money, his problem.

Other alternatives I am not so relaxed about.

And if JLo is going to flirt with other teams then perhaps Yamaha can flirt with the likes of Maverick...and MV might take a deal with yamaha for much less than JLo would, and could still be as good as JLo on the M1...given his pre-season form...

JLo in the end will stay at Yamaha.....for whatever he has been offered by them....

However, if JLo does decide to take a job at anywhere but Yamaha then he wont win the 2016 title....IMO.....why would yamaha give equal support to a rider that is going to leave them for a rival team...

i reckon its a formula for a good season

No way yamaha will sign another rider until JLo has signed elsewhere.

Quite the contrary in fact! With all do respect Krops, we can conclude this guy was spot on; for added measure, your attempt at discrediting this article (which turned out to convey the message that appears to have played out) did you no favors. Frankly, I'm a bit confused why you would want to highlight it. You seem to be doing a victory dance not quite understanding you were actually quite wrong. (Shelving that other article you discredited about the penalty points system that turned out to be spot on). No shame in predictions being wrong for any of us, but you went out of your way to post that this dude in the original post was suspect. While in fact everything points to him being correct. Particularly that Rossi was putting pressure on the dynamic of negotiations to apply added pressure on Yamaha in hopes of making it more difficult for Lorenzo. What are you failing to understand here Kropo? Honestly man, I don't get it.

Here was the original translation I posted of this article:

The Italian press have sided against Jorge Lorenzo

By Quique Alcaniz

Maximum tension at Yamaha. Relations between Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi are totally broken and the confrontation threatens to blow up the Japanese team in 2016. The coexistence is impossible and the team has a difficult problem for next season. One of the two pilots has to leave Yamaha, seven-times world champion threatens to withdraw if his contract is not renewed.

Lorenzo and Rossi. Rossi or Lorenzo. The dilemma is clear. Yamaha understands they must be without one of the two pilots in 2017. The two have a contract that ends in 2016 and the selection will be complicated. The Italian subsidiary of Yamaha is powerful and obviously has positioned itself in favor of the continuity of Valentino. In Japan, however, they consider options, but with less passion to fire. They believe that Lorenzo should their bet for the future.

First Races

Rossi does not want to wait to see how events unfold and has taken the initiative. The Italian rider has already announced he will decide his future in two or three months. After running the first MotoGP race; will assess how he is treated by the team principals.

Valentino has put pressure on Yamaha to renew his contract or threaten to retire at the end of 2016. "If I do not renew with Yamaha, I leave," said the charismatic World pilot. Rossi has made it clear, he will not accept Yamaha negotiate with Lorenzo to renew his contract before him. If that happens, in December he will leave the Japanese team and abandon his career in MotoGP.

When the article was written, the tension between the riders was certainly generally accepted as true. (check) Unless you are going to refute it by asserting that all was 'rosie' at Yamaha. Rossi repeated his dissatisfaction about the entire situation (he created no less) as if he was the victim, and made it a point to include how he had been "disrespected" referring to Lorenzo! that means tensions were in fact high between the two. It certainly did look like Yamaha might have to chose between one of them (and this may still be true) as it seems you have failed to read the implications of this SURPRISING news (les you forget you reported Rossi would wait) again the author being spot on. (check) I say surprising, because I am not surprised, and I posted in this threat my prediction that Rossi would maneuver to resign with Yamaha BEFORE Lorenzo to apply added pressure and make signing Jorge a bit more complicated. Furthermore, the fact Rossi has reneged on his initial pronouncement that he would decide AFTER a few races advances the assertion made by this author (again, as I see it, a tactic by Rossi) --that assertion being that Rossi would put pressure on Yamaha to renew his contract BEFORE Lorenzo and would not accept Yamaha signing a deal with Lorenzo BEFORE him. (check)

If we are to conclude anything, it's that this author was spot on, there was and is tension at Yamaha, Rossi has added tension by reneging on his original pronouncement (surely a tactic) and renewed his contract in the middle of the night. Doing so Rossi has increased the possibility that Lorenzo leaves. (check) Let me add, Rossi is now going to try and create little conflicts with Lorenzo, in hopes that this will affect Lorenzo to leave. Allow me to paraphrase Mike Scott: Rossi is ruthless.

Random website which never sends journalists to races gets scoop?

Let's hope it's as accurate as this:

El casting de pilotos en Honda para tapar la salida de Mrquez

Tito Rabat as one of the riders being approached by Honda to replace Marc Marquez.

Confirmation bias, you haz it.

Rossi and Lorenzo hate each other. They hated each other before last year, Sepang and especially Valencia just made it worse.

The plot device concocted to hang the story on was that Valentino Rossi threatened to retire or otherwise leave Yamaha if they signed Jorge Lorenzo.

Yamaha offered both riders a contract at the same time.

Rossi did not retire. He did not demand that Lorenzo not be offered a contract. He signed on the dotted line, because he believes he is still competitive (leaving aside for a moment whether he truly is or not).

Ergo, this author made up a pile of ....., posted it on the internet, in the hope that some poor sucker would gobble it up because it fitted in with their own biases and prejudices.

In other words, this author just punked you, Jum. He made money off your eagerness to believe this story. You weren't the only sucker, of course, there were masses of them. And that's why they invented the story, to exploit that.

Kropo tends to have difficulty dealing with trivial setbacks where he wasn't correct.

Interesting.

If you go look at the thread on the changes to the rules, you will find me posting a frank admission I was wrong. I expect to be wrong all of the time, and so it is a pleasant surprise when I am not wrong.

What really ....... annoys me is when bloodsucking leeches invent stories to use as clickbait. It's a Daily Mail tactic.

Jum is much smarter than that, if he would just look past his own prejudices. He believes there is corruption in Dorna, and rails against Rossi. That's like living in North Korea, and complaining that the rice isn't the right consistency. Missing the big picture entirely.

Stated today after FP4, Rossi pulling up beside Lorenzo during practice starts and accused him of purposely balking him. Lorenzo promptly went out 20 minutes later and smoked his ... so I guess it's not working.

Jorge has a big ego as well of course, but he is a tough hombre (see Assen 2013) with 5 world championships and I don't think is a strong candidate for the time honoured status of "mentally broken" by Valentino's "subtle" mind games, given he is the one who has actually already induced a massive error of judgement from Rossi when Rossi went to Ducati himself, rather than VR getting to him which he hasn't really done at all by my recollection.

Jorge had a not so subtle shot back at the Tavullia titan, pointing out that he was the defending championship and had burnt no bridges/created no antipathies at teams other than Yamaha, and hence had more options than Valentino, in the comment from him posted (as you are aware) on the other thread.

Hahaha, did this happen in practice or qual? I'm laughing remembering Rossi fans jumping all over Stoner, calling him a whiner moaner for waving his arms toward dowling riders. Please tell me Rossi made a hand gesture. I still remember the Horde describing Stoner as "flailing his arms" and lobbing insult, oh i wonder what they'll say of Rossi for doing the same. You think they'll call Rossi a moaner? I haven’t had a chance to watch vid today, was trying to not click on the spoiler thread but I already know Jlo is on pole. How do we know what Rossi said? Press release? Please tell me it's on video.

Those mind games used to work when the competition knew Rossi was faster than they were. Now the tables are turned, they are ineffectual.

Rossi has surpassed maybe even Biaggi as the ultimate ..... whiner in bike racing. It's getting sad to watch the spiral he s in, naaah not really.

What happened was similar what VR did to JL in Misano last year, which resulted in him getting a penalty point. He did gesture. He is Italian, after all.
