ROSSI THREATENS WITHDRAW

Good to see you both, Hangman and Mang.

It took a long time to expose the true Rossi persona, but the battle has been won.

The one-eyed Rossi " boppers" are scarce on the ground these days. Well, in better informed circles anyway.

Confirmation bias, you haz it.

Rossi and Lorenzo hate each other. They hated each other before last year, Sepang and especially Valencia just made it worse.

The plot device concocted to hang the story on was that Valentino Rossi threatened to retire or otherwise leave Yamaha if they signed Jorge Lorenzo.

Yamaha offered both riders a contract at the same time.

Rossi did not retire. He did not demand that Lorenzo not be offered a contract. He signed on the dotted line, because he believes he is still competitive (leaving aside for a moment whether he truly is or not).

Ergo, this author made up a pile of ....., posted it on the internet, in the hope that some poor sucker would gobble it up because it fitted in with their own biases and prejudices.

In other words, this author just punked you, Jum. He made money off your eagerness to believe this story. You weren't the only sucker, of course, there were masses of them. And that's why they invented the story, to exploit that.

I just need to say, I've been a fan of motogp for 6 years now, but being an american, I've never really met anyone else who enjoys the sport... This is the first time I've searched for forums; and I'm so happy to see that there are other people out there that dislike Rossi. Until I witnessed him intentionally knock Marc off his bike, I really rooted for Valentino. I have since lost all respect for the man.

Aggressive racing is different from deliberately putting another rider to the pavement. I watch motogp for the thrill of the sport, I don't have one rider that I particularly love ...but now I have one to hate. I'm glad I'm not alone!
Nice to see another lurker making the break from cover, thought I'd join you in that and on this particular topic.

I have also been a huge MotoGP/Rossi fan for oh so many years, and I also find myself questioning his real personality. I did see the incident in the final race last year and after reading all the arguments and even though I had my doubts, I was happy to put it down to a mistake/being knocked/other innocent reasons. I didn't see the hand gesture on Sunday but, I think that I already don't like the guy any more, which is a tough one, because he was basically MotoGP for me for all those years.

Anyway I don't quite know what I'm trying to say really, but thought I'd atleast say something and say hello :)

Random website which never sends journalists to races gets scoop?

Bump

Well....looks like this "click baiter" for which this thread was based on got it spot on, eh Kropo? How did you put it to me, oh yeah, "confirmation bias". Interesting that this obscure bloke got it absolutely correct. I love the irony of the concept of "confirmation bias", if he get it wrong, then 'i told you so...he was a hack.' If he gets it right...it's just "confirmation bias". Hahaha, just teasing you a bit buddy. And....pointing out the precarious nature of calling would be journalists click baiters. Hehehe (just messing with you man, we know you're legit, one of the best journalists out there.)

Recap: The original post was a link to this article where the obscure author said there was "maximum tension at Yamaha" and that "Yamaha understand one must go." This article is dated 13 March 2016.

The Italian press have sided against Jorge Lorenzo

Maximum tension at Yamaha. Relations between Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi are totally broken and the confrontation threatens to blow up the Japanese team in 2016. The coexistence is impossible and the team has a difficult problem for next season. One of the two pilots has to leave Yamaha, seven-times world champion threatens to withdraw if his contract is not renewed.

Lorenzo and Rossi. Rossi or Lorenzo. The dilemma is clear. Yamaha understands they must be without one of the two pilots in 2017. The two have a contract that ends in 2016 and the selection will be complicated. The Italian subsidiary of Yamaha is powerful and obviously has positioned itself in favor of the continuity of Valentino. In Japan, however, they consider options, but with less passion to fire. They believe that Lorenzo should their bet for the future.

First Races

Rossi does not want to wait to see how events unfold and has taken the initiative. The Italian rider has already announced he will decide his future in two or three months. After running the first MotoGP race; will assess how he is treated by the team principals.

Valentino has put pressure on Yamaha to renew his contract or threaten to retire at the end of 2016. "If I do not renew with Yamaha, I leave," said the charismatic World pilot. Rossi has made it clear, he will not accept Yamaha negotiate with Lorenzo to renew his contract before him. If that happens, in December he will leave the Japanese team and abandon his career in MotoGP.
