Respect to Hayden...

Nick is great dude....but he should have punched Stoner in the throat first.

Hayden can be a bit of a wuss sometimes, but honestly, a little humility and class goes a long way in a sport driven by Napoleonic, righteously indignant, underachieving 20 somethings.

Keep it up, Nicky. See if you can win with class again, too!

If you actually watch the video of the same interview, he sounds like he's about to cry the whole way through, voice quivering and honestly, his compliments sounded forced through clenched teeth and bitterness..

Humble, classy, respectful, gracious? .. I think not! Put a show on for the cameras so you can scrounge some dignity from an absolutely ...... title defense, i think so..

WOW!!
Is someone a little bitter? I did watch the video and do not see that at all. I think we can all agree that no one put up much of a defense to Stoner, not just Hayden. Look at the circumstances! Hayden is ridding a bike built for a midget, on tires that are not up to par, and still learning how to make the most out of a new style. I think he did very well given the circumstances he was given. He will do much better next year also. Where you see ...., I see success. Don't be that guy.

It was a shte title defense from a champion that barely won it in the first place...so he is actually riding at normal level for him now...

Where You See Success...I See Execuses....
Hayden is not a Biaggi, so let the blame for losing the title sit on his shoulders and his alone...just like he won the title by his own doing....NOT because he had the best tires and bike in 2006...
<

The only thing Hayden should do now is take off the number 1 plate and go back to the numer 69....HOWEVER, the FIM MotoGP rules state that Nicky can keep the number 1 for the whole year.....but would he want to continue to remind himself of the fact that he could not even call himself champion for complete calendar year?

Absolutely,brother

I have read Hayden's quotes but have not seen the video! There is no way that Nicky would have been anything but gracious with his comments!

Equal with CV, I reckon he is the most down to earth and genuine person in the paddock!

I reckon Hayden would have been feeling "at-one" with Casey at the time .... I mean after all the denials and claims of "caretaker" and false title winner ... Casey's win backs up the feat of Hayden ....

ie. Hayden won a world motogp title ... and its no mean feat ... and to top that, Hayden was the guy who dethroned Rossi ... one of the alltime greats of the sport.

That's because you don't have the ability to see anything other than your beloved Ant West do anything admirable. You get zero credit here on this forum and this is the reason why-- Because if it doesn’t involve a compliment about West, its all .... to you.

Hes a decent guy, hes like the type who would give you a toe if you ran out of fuel in all seriousness a top bloke and i'm glad he got that world title.

Pot, Kettle... Black?

Someone voices their opinion about your beloved bumpkin Hayden and you carry on like a pre-teen child..

Ive complimented many other riders i.e Guintoli, Smith, Ranseder, Simon, yes there are other classes than the premier incase you didnt know, considering you only jumped on the bandwagon last year when Hayden was pointsing his way to the title and boring the .... out of everyone..

Im not solely a West fan, as you can clearly tell, so get your facts straight before you go shooting off your mouth behind your red mist and pathetic veiled agression..

It seems to me that Nicky"s fans on this forum emulate his gracious and respectable attitude even in the face of childish, bitter flame inciting comments.
Most of us are able to see the good in other riders regardless of which soil they come from.

Can't see Hayden being anything but gracious in defeat. He's a true sportsman if ever I've seen one, never blaming anyone for his losses and trying to make the most out of his crappy year.
P.S I still can't believe people are questioning his world title. 2006 world champion - it's in the books, get over it.

Have always admired Hayden's attitude and am not the least surprised with his comments or his actions at the GP of making sure he caught and congratulated Stoner.

Hayden may not be everybody's cup of tea but I for one do think he is genuine and down to earth, perhaps to much so as maybe a little mongrel may result in more credit and respect being granted his way.

TROLL!

If you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks!

Even as someone who has ripped the piss out of Hayboy more than most, I can honestly say that I didnt expect him to be anything but gracious in defeat. He comes over as one of the good guys, and someone who has wanted the number one plate as bad as Haystack is naturally going to be upset at losing it. Thats human nature.

Remember the lyrics of the song he had on his website before taking the title, "If you only get one shot" thats not arrogant, thats realism, that was his big shot, he took it, and it paid off. He won the title. Yeah, myself and others took the piss for the lack of race wins, but, when the chips were down, he did the damage.

I will say however, that it would have taken a die hard Hayden fan to expect that he was going to retain the title, not many folk take a GP title with 2 wins, and to be realistic, he was gonna have to raise his game big time to keep the crown. Thats not taking anything away fae Hayden, it's realism.

I hope he doesn't go the way KRjR went after his title, that would be .... for the guy.

However,

Numbers Dont Lie........

History will probably remember that line as a curse and a blessing to the guy.

Pete
