There is an old un scientific engineering term that always rings true. If it dont look right it wont go right. Just look at Concorde and Concordski.

now this dont look right to me.

Yeah - I agree and prefer to term it a 90 degree twin, but nonetheless HRC currently run this in the RCV213 and the proddy racer which indicated that it was a viable angle and that Ducati's woes could not simply be attributed to the engine layout.

From what i have seen the honda layout not only sits further back, something ducati cant do due to the space taken up by the desmo heads, the front pot is not as horizontal. I'm talking from memory so if anyone has nakid pics to disprove i welcome them.

I'll B.JC it and look for a link

Yeah, that front pot on the honda looks quite a bit angled up than the duc. Plus it doesn't have the desmo parts taking up even more space.

Agree, but the point being, I don't think that the problems with the Ducati can be solely reduced to the engine angle as many suppose.

The trouble is one cause can cause other seemingly unrelated causes. Then trying to work around one issue causes another. In other words you start chasing your tail.

Sometimes its hard to try and finish someone elses project than it is to start from scratch yoursel;f. I think that was JB's problem.

Looks good but i doubt it goes that well. Maybe that was your point haha

I think it looks like someone tried to build a Tron bike out of Lego, but it is fast despite being hideous. Well... theoretically fast as nobody has actually had the balls to see how quick it can actually go, but estimates range from 300-400 MPH.

In a straight line. Even the Ducati is fast in a straight like lol

Oh you want an ugly bike that can go fast around corners.

Never ....... satisfied... :p

This article, translated, was interesting with regard to 90deg engines, Honda vs Ducati specifically.

I hope the proper page shows up.

Good info mate ,cheers. I remember when honda went to 90 they tilted the rear bank backwards. Something Ducati couldn't do iirc because of the physical size of their engine due to the desmo set up.

You spelled colour wrong.

Since more Americans speak and write the language than Britons - we get to say what spelling is right.

Your's is the gay spelling.

I've been trying to read that page for ages. My computer just blank screens it...

From what I recall of the Manziana articles, Ducati rotated the engine backwards at some point in 2012. Being too tightwad to design new crankcases, this rotation meant that to maintain the sprocket-to-swingarm relationship the crank centreline would also be raised. So the amount it could be rotated was limited, regardless of engine bulk/packaging
