CASEY STONER recorded the second-fastest lap on the opening day of practice at Phillip Island before taking a swipe at the condition of the track.
Stoner, who has won at Phillip Island the past two years, said problems yesterday were exacerbated by the track condition.

''I don't know what they've been running around here, trucks or something, but it's definitely the worst condition I've ever seen it by far,'' he said

His comments follow complaints by Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso, who want the event on the MotoGP calender moved to a different time of year to avoid poor weather.

Going back to the Canepa crash. On eurosport they said that they thought his crash was something to do with a run in with a seagull! I haven't heard anything about a seagull in any of the news reports. Has anyone else? They seemed pretty sure it was a sea gull that took him down...
Shame he is not going to be in Sundays race though and is a maybe over the Mayalsian one. I am not a fan of his but when you have 3 race left in Moto GP and might not be able to race 2 of them. It's a little unfair especially if it is a seagulls fault!

I know it's only practice but... Kallio beats Hayden(as usual of course), Andrea Dovizioso is 1 second off pace from Dani Pedrosa, HeyWhore! LorenTHO is back in 6th place, and Chris Vermeulen in his home grand prix getting spanked by oldman Caparossi(nothing new here).

I hope HeyWhore! can get it together soon, he needs to win this one.
