Young Spanish star Jorge Lorenzo has suffered a setback in his bid to overhaul Valentino Rossi in the MotoGP world championship.
Lorenzo is battling food poisoning ahead of Saturday's critical qualifying run for Sunday's race.
The problem has weakened him to the extent that he fell during Friday's official practice in sunny but cool conditions.
Lorenzo eventually finished a disappointing sixth quickest behind Rossi and Australian Ducati rider Casey Stoner, who is aiming for a hat-trick of elite class victories at his home circuit.
