I think more its the power delivery of the bike that would be the problem, not so much the TC ..... sure if you balked him into riding in that burbling stage the Duc. seems to have ... thats not where Stoner rides it usually so it would be a good tactic to hold him there.
Yeah its just that the power delivery is determined by TC in most cases.

No engine mapping does that .... the TC if functioning correctly attempts to help when things go pearshaped.

I doubt whether Stoners bike was going anywhere much like needing TC at Laguna .... especially as you are suggesting he was being held up .... it would then ( it would stand to reason ) have been set up to be operative at the performance he was expecting to achieve ... would he not? ....

That's not true. TC is by itself a means of controlling the power at the wheel/tire level. Engine mapping controls the torque and hp curve that feeds the wheels.
He was expecting to be grilling hamburgers waiting for everyone else to finish. My point is that his bike was set up to run away, not dogfight, and that the TC is not set up to handle the number of variables that he had to throw in to battle Rossi that close.

I don't think you have any idea ...... just beliefs based on doctrine

I don't think any bike is setup for that many variables. Its up to the rider to deal with this through skill and experience.
