That was a great race, it was good to see JT up there battling again after some poor recent form.
Rossi coming through the pack was incredible.
Shamw Nicky's tyres faded at the end, but still another podium was well deserved.

<

And Randy did stay upright and finished in the top 10

Well done to ROSSI and everyone else,
nice to see JT there for a while, great ride by Nicky and Nakano.

Shinya Nakano #1......... what a great rider he is. Can anyone confirm the rumor that Nakano is going to get the 3rd Kawasaki ride?

Cool you saw that to. Man he did that in a split second then grabbed the clutch. Killer shot. And it was great to see Hayden up there so hopefully next year he will be the one winning.

Wow, the save by Mika Kallio, impressive. I guess all that ice track experience comes in handy when the bike gets squirrely.

Hahaha, great stuff Arra. I must say I got a good chuckle watching Dani pitch it in the grass. Schadenfreude at it's best.

First off, CONGRATS TO STONER. This was a much-needed boost to his confidence. Great post race interview, very honest and humble I thought.

I predicted Rossi would finish on the podium (I posed this somewhere). Great battles, he won every single one (except the one against Stoner in this race).

Hayden, what can I say, great ride. It was so refreshing to see him attached to Stoner. I guess he’s not that overrated and bad of a rider after-all, eh Migs. BTW, I’d like to here Babel’s take on why he faded and was eventually passed. I wonder if it had anything to do with tires. What do you think Babel?

Other mentionable:

Toesland! Damn, I did say when I predicted Rossi finishing on the podium, when a few wrote him off because of starting in 12th, that the list of people in front of him had no chance of stopping him. To my credit, I did mention that Toesland had some track knowledge and this might pose a problem, and guess what, I was correct. Ah, I had been worried about this cat after that fierce ride in Qatar. I think I had underestimated him and didn’t factor in what I already knew—that is many tracks he has struggled at is because of lack of familiarity (on top of Michelin giving him .... to deal with). I was most entertained by Toesland (of course this was after I regained my composure from rolling around laugh at Peders cart wheeling in the gravel).

Peders, you suck, enough said.

Sucks for Vermi, as if he needs that little midget to screw up his home GP. Sucks for his hometown fans, but I invite all you Aussies upset to focus your anger at the cause, ....... Peders.

Oh yeah, as far as people praising West for finishing a mille-second ahead of Hopper, uhm, it is his home GP right? So he finished ahead of Hopper in his HOME race, great…I think.

Melandri must be chomping at the bit to get on that outstanding green machine package! Really, I don’t think it could get any worse, could it?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (smaid @ Oct 5 2008, 04:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Rossi, flat out, overtaking and adjusting levers:the guy is ....... amazing.

Years ago I was watching a Supercross race and the race announcer made a comment about how the riders were "literally working on their bikes in the air". I think it was Jeremy McGrath at the time, when he hit a big triple or the finish line jump he reached over and adjusted his clutch, while in the air.

Why is it that you avoid talking about my man Shinya Nakano's impressive form in the race? Don't hate.

Because we all expect you to be jumping up and down like a raving madman about how well he did.

All respect though, good job Shinya.

He finished 5th, 12 seconds off the leader. Uhm, yeah, I guess this is a good day for Nakano. Ok, good job Nakano, you didn't finish your usual 9th.

Great pics Andy & Punk. Please keep them coming. May I suggest you open up a separate thread so we can all enjoy them. Oh, and please blow up the umbrella girl pics, don't keep them all to yourself.

I was one of them - because West has copped a lot of .... about his season and has basically been made a scapegoat. I bet he gets paid less than a tenth of what Hopper gets, and still he's only 4 points behind him in the championship.
Hopper's been in GP's for years and has done .... all and Westy has now been in motoGP for just over a year.
Still, it's kawasaki i hate more than anything. Good luck Marco, as I expect kawasaki will be your ticket out of motoGP.

I don't dislike West. I was actually one of few that thought he had earned a look after his WSB performances. But I don't think he deserves to be in MotoGP any more. He did get beat at Hoppers GP by a fairly old wildcard rider named Hacking.

But I will agree with you that he is somewhat of a scapegoat. But as you sight Hoppers pay, seems rather irrelevant, lets not forget that those mere 4 points would have been a bit more if we factor in the DNFs and injuries Hopper has had, so its a bit unfair to look at just that.

I'm obviously a bit of a Hopper fan, so yup, the bias is forthcoming, this is one reason why I'm looking forward to next year to answer these questions about Hopper's talent. He will be teamed up with a guy we all "know" is a proven talent, so judging from their performances, I think it will shed some light on this year's results. I mean, imagine if they are always at the back, could you really say riders suck or the machine sucks? Now if Hopper out performs Melandri, then I think we can fairly deduce he is better than we think, certainly better than his results would indicate. But we'll have to all wait and see.
