Melandri is on borrowed time, and when he joins Hopper next year that team will get even worse since both will want the bike to be for them...and so it will be developed in an even bigger.....the 3rd Kwak is the only hope that team has of success.

Don't disagree one bit.

I would have likes to have seen Hayden fight (and he tried at T4 but got in hot), but personally I think his rear tyre cried enough and he could not get the drive.

IMO, his head and heart were willing, but the gear just couldn't.

As for Melandri and Kwak, so true.

There was an interesting piece in an Australian paper, it was an interview with West and he does seem glad to be going from that team.

Nicky did fight for the win. He chose a softer tire at the last minute so he could keep pace with Stoner. Unfortunately for Hayden, Stoner had more in reserve than Hayden could manage with the softer tire.

If he had run the harder tire he might have been stuck in the scrap for 3rd and he probably still would have ruined his tires. It was another classic Fayden incident, but considering how rough things were midpack, he probably ended up better off.

Next year he gets Bridgestones. Perhaps his tire troubles will be a thing of the past?

Hayden's soft tyre choice got him on the podium. If he had gone for a harder tyre he would have ended up probably where Lorenzo was. A tyre that lasts sure, but just not fast enough. Nicky was terrific today and he wont have to worry about fading Michelin tyres or a bike that leans off the fuel to make it to the finish next year.

Flawless race from Stoner & was on it all weekend. The only worry was FP3 on Saturday morning.
Me and the missus camped at the bottom of Lukey heights at MG corner. 3 of the 4 Ducat's dropped the front in exactly the same place right in front of us. But they must have got it sorted.

Vale was fantastic working his way through the field. I had no doubt he would be on the podium today. Toseland fought him off for as long as he could. Great race from James today and deserved an even better result.

Great job by Dovi & Nakano as well.
Jorge did great to finish 4th, but from 2nd on the grid I expected a little more.

Westy beat Hopper again and is only 4 points behind him in the championship. Hopper's the biggest joke in the field. West should be glad he's getting out of the crappiest factory effort in memory.
...., I hope he can beat Hopkins in the standings over the next 2 races.

What a race
<
felt really bad for James and Nicky. Something happened off screen on the last lap between James and Dovi. I heard James say to the the guy from Motogp.com that Dovi was giving him the eye after the race, James just played it cool and said he really enjoyed the race
<

It could have been worse if Nicky stayed on the harder compound, It was a last minute change of mind on the starting grid and at least he finished the race unlike the favoured little gimp, so over all a pretty damn good day at the office

Delighted for Casey a perfect end to a great weekend, also for Valentino snatching second is as good as a win considering what he had to go thru to get it

Looking forward to the mono tyre next season. Imagine if Nicky and the scrappers were all on similar rubber today

I thought he said Nakano.

Either way whatever it was JT was 'unrepentant' about it (hard to say whether justified or not as no footage has been seen).

More to come.

What a great ....... day. I'm sunburt, smell like B.O and stale beer, there was some great moments and I have a lot of photos.

This one is for the Stoner / Hayden fans and I really qualify on both of those. I'll post a few more after I fly home. Was up on Lukey heights, got to see a few crashes in 125 and 250's (no one hurt) and the Bautista/Simoncelli battle was grand. Too late for the two strokes - but I love the smelly little .......s.

Thats a great pic Andy, you can barley see Stoner with the lean angle, Man tv dose Motogp no justice

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Punk @ Oct 5 2008, 08:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Good stuff dude, Lukey is a good spot.

We had this spot where you could watch the guys slide through the last few corners. Who said 800's don't slide. Nicki killed his tyres and I thought he deserved second. He was No.1 for entertainment. Hopkins was hanging some great arse out slides as well (what else could he do, the rest of his ride was shocking) and Casey had the bike squirming like a 4 year old with worms through there.

Loved your photos too Punk, looks like a good spot. What a great day. Hate waiting to next year again now.

Most around us were impressed by Hayden, he was wringing that Repsol at 110% to keep up with Casey. How about Rossi, 12th to 2nd, ya gotta hand it to him. Felt sorry for Vermuelen.

Same here. He was offed by Pedro wasn't he (that was at the entry to southern loop - we were there for morning warm-up).

Another reason not like Pedro.

1. Whinging about tyres and getting Michelin tossed out
2. Running CV off the track ...

If I had a neighbour who had a dog called Dani Pedrosa I would kick its arse. But my neighbours dog is called Trevor so I give it scraps and stuff. But IF it was called Dani.......... look out mutt.

EDIT: Watching race now on TV, maybe it wasn't Dani. I'm very nice to animals, except edible ones.

Just for Dani
Somewhat harsh in my view. Whatever anyone thinks of dani, he has been extremely fast and consistently so over his whole career. I seem to recall him having a fairly large crash midseason when he fractured a wrist amongst other injuries and it is entirely possible he is still not in peak physical condition, particularly since perhaps ironically the pneumatic honda seems to require a certain amount of manhandling.

he should be used to being manhandled by now surely?

great race, the 250's were better in terms of pure "racing" but a really good show by most of the riders out there today.

wasnt it cause of toseland that dani had to pick up the bike a bit and lost the balance, went of into the grass and fell??

good race, Im watching the replay as we speak

great race! how FAST was rossi when he closed up on to hayden!!
<
dont know, Im a hayden-fan, but still, everytime he gets passed, he doesnt seem to be able to counter back. like today, rossi passed him, hayden was SOOO close behind him and then BAM he goes wide in a corner and screws up his chance to keep up with rossi

great race for toseland too. happy 28th bday for him too

Dani did it all by himself. he had a big front wheel slide at the entry and totally lost his line.

I thought he went off his line cause of toseland coming from the inside. I´ll watch the replay again later on tonight to make sure.
