However, on multiple occasions he's proved more than capable and willing to fight for position and he has repeatedly been successful in that endeavor. He also seems to have that little bit extra left at the end of the race.

He has a lot of qualities that are necessary to win at a top level.

I can appreciate agression, but Rae mite want to consider that Spies & Haga are locked in a title battle so if hes gonna execute a pass it should b clean enough so as not to be the one to decide a championship

If a rider is getting phased out by his competitors stature or position in the championship then that is weak. JR should treat Spies and Haga like any other bike on the track and be doing his best to beat them.

And how is this different from what I said?

doesn't really solve the mystery, but damn do they look cool
If you look at Haga's body compared to the lean of his bike,it tells me he cooked the corner and is trying to yank, not ride, the bike back into the prefered racing line.Rhea has the prefered line, advantage Rhea,Haga ...... up.

Well you were suggesting that he should make some extra consideration to ensure the pass is clean. I disagree

I don't feel that title contenders should get extra consideration from their competitors either. Riders should race Haga and Spies the same way they would any other racer; they should strive to make clean passes on all riders.

A champion has to take on all comers and strike a balance between racing for wins and preserving the points position. If the racers who are out of the championship picture gave the title contenders a wide berth, it would not only weaken the spectacle, but reduce the accomplishment that is becoming a champion.

Haga dueled hard with Rea into an odd sequence of turns that accomodates different lines, creating the potential for riders to come together. I'm not saying Rea was not at fault. The replay of the incident on youtube cuts off the corner entry; all I can see is the two bikes touching and Haga falling.

Late in the NFL season, should a team with a losing record go soft on a team that is in a tight divisional or wildcard race?
