<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Kropotkin @ Mar 11 2010, 11:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Apparently the team is short of cash, and they are unlikely to compete. Faubel is said to be looking for a ride elsewhere, while Wilairot is keeping in shape by testing a supersport bike.

Shame, as Wilairot was pretty good.

Update on this: According to the Spanish press, the Stop & Go team will be racing on a Bimota (which is cool, as that's a gorgeous bike). Wilairot is definitely in, and is bringing money from a Thai oil company, I believe. Faubel is still negotiating, looking for a ride elsewhere, I believe.

Not gonna happen (at least not at World Championship level). The MSMA were afraid of a horsepower war which would have been incredibly expensive, and so went with a spec engine to prevent that.

The Flamminis don't have a leg to stand on. I have an interview with Vito Ippolito which I'm typing up, where I asked him what the deal was with the WSBK contract, and he explained it was about homologation. I hope to get the interview up when I've finished moving the website to the new host. I'll post a link up when I get it done.

The Thai Honda PTT SAG team of Ratthapark Wilairot and Hector Faubel has swapped from a planned Suter chassis to become the only team running a Bimota design in this year's inaugural Moto2 World Championship.

“We had a preliminary agreement with Suter but there were some terms in the final contract with which we did not agree and in the end we have decided to go with Bimota,” the official MotoGP website quotes team director Eduardo Perales as saying.

“We are pleased because it represents a more direct, more human contact, and if there are problems it will be much easier to resolve them.

“There will only be [our] two riders using the Bimota frame in the world championship. If you are one of twelve then unfortunately it is always a little more difficult when you raise your hand.”

Joining Bimota and Suter in having at least one chassis on the full-time 2010 Moto2 grid will be Moriwaki, FTR, Tech 3, Promoharris, RSV, Pons Kalex, ICP, ADV, TSR, BQR, Scot and MZ.

The next official Moto2 test will be held at Jerez from March 27-29.

Scott Redding will start the inaugural Moto2 world championship in Qatar next week with a new team-mate in the Belgian-based Marc VDS Racing squad.

A series of disappointing testing performances on board the Suter MMX machine have cost Vincent Lonbois his place alongside Redding for the 2010 campaign.

Spaniard Hector Faubel has been thrown an 11th hour lifeline having been drafted into ride for the Marc VDS squad in the new 600cc four-stroke class.

Elias already trying to back in the bike, check out some of the testing shots on the official site, glorious!!

Yes!!BM has not been forthcoming on this,I`m dissapointed although the more I read your synopsis of it ,the more I tend to agree with it.Wasn`t it Gobert who was one of the first to stamp on the rear anchor?

Not sure, he's more renowned for stamping on pensioners these days.
