I can see the similarities but at least Stoner actually made it to Motogp

However, there is a lot of credit to be given to the Rossi boppers who never left. The marketing hoax wasn't enacted to bring them back to the sport. They should be allowed to celebrate.
Thanks, i think.

It was a compliment. If you've stuck it out through all the gray clouds and the whacky drama over the last couple of years, you should get to pop some bubbly.

Not only did Rossi win the title, he won it in style with a victory. His focus this season has been on another level and I reckon this title might mean more than previous ones.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SuperShinya56 @ Sep 28 2008, 05:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Why was Randy Mamola downplaying Rossi's championship? He sounded like the bitter Jumkie here, practicly saying Rossi was handed championships on a silver plattter. Mamola said something about Rossi not being the best rider too. Is Mamola just another hater like Jumkie here, or is he a little bitter at Rossi for what Rossi did this year as far as getting the Bridgestone rubber?

If you have followed GP for any length of time, you will know that Mamola is not in the habit of giving Rossi much respect. Mmm, and doesn't he ride a red Italian bike for promotional purposes? Jumkie's not a hater, he's misguided, there are plenty of proper Rossi haters on here, and he aint one!

A little late but congratulations to Rossi,an incredible feat!
It could'nt have been easy.
I kind of get the feeling he is like Tiger Woods,he's not competing with current riders ,he is competing with himself and the historybooks.I think that is one of the reasons he is on a Yamaha now for instance.

As i understand of all i have heard about him he is on another level of commitment than the others. In other words he works the hardest to be champion so he rightly deserves it.I'm not saying the others like Stoner isn't pushing their bikes to the limit because they do and Stoner for sure. But every thing around, making sure every thing around him is working perfectly.

A side note, the comentator on Swedish Eurosport has said Rossi spends alot of time with his stickers on the bike in the evenings for instance. With his busy scedule it 's hard to believe.

Maybe he just likes playing with his stickers. Really cool stickers make the bike go faster, don't-ya know?

Great race and title win by Valentino.

But Casey will surely be very strong on the GP9...The 2009 M1 needs to be good for Valentino and Lorenzo.

I remember Mick Doohan saying when he retired that Rossi had the potential to become the greatest ever. Surely, Rossi is the greatest ever.
Not unbeatable, but the greatest ever in an era where the bikes a pretty even.

Yamaha should release a limited edition VR bike. Super high performance bike, like a super R1.
Like the Senna.

I like photo, where Stoner shakes Rossi's hand: seems like he's congratulations are sincere..
Hope their rivalry will be graceful next season

Congrats to vale on a great win and a superb ride.

Bring on '09 now as I want to see close racing with at least half a dozen bikes, not just the two runaways of recent races.
