Michelin® Australian Motorcycle GP 2016 Nicky Hayden extravaganza with spoilers

Get that bumpkin off the factory Honda. Over 2.5 seconds slower than Marquez, better off with Hiroshi Aoyama.

They intended to use Aoyama at Phillip Island but apparently they are still waiting on him to finish Motegi so he kind of ruled himself out.

Considering everyone from 4th down is over 1.5 seconds off you need to kindly take your opinion and shove it your ... where .... belongs.

Hi All,

Let me save a few the trouble - Yes you hate Rossi. i dont. I got photos of others too so get over it

Disclaimer: I am by no means a photographer which is evident in the quality of the photos haha

The only use for this tyre is a flag to flag scenario, dry conditions to wet, 10 laps remaining.

Thanks, I didn't even consider they would build a tyre specifically for a flag to flag half distance scenario. Michelin really haven't been shy in opening their chequebook this season.

Ah, so some reckon the track was wet , bah, this is the track when it gets really wet (turn 1)

Personally, I am not even convinced that the Michelin super super super soft wet would work in this

They need a spoonful of cement and to harden the .... up!

Repsol Honda have pulled some strings with HRC and have this thing sitting in the pits for Marc just incase.

But they are going to need this when the rain stops and the sun starts shining as well

If it gets really wet tomorrow, I would have to put my money behind Nicky Hayden. He has a lot of experience when it comes to navigating Phillip Island in really wet conditions.

"Hayseed"? It goes with Hayden better. Except for the last minute Espargaro tow festival, the Hayseed might have been on the second row. Considering where Lorenzo and Rossi ended up, I would say the Hayseed did just fine.

Thanks for sharing. Personal pictures are always fun. No surprise that the best one is of Rossi in the Pits. [a wink and a nod]

Some Rossi fans ALWAYS hope for bad weather. Would this work for him?

Hi
I'm kind of new here but i'll get to the point.
When i saw the Q2 spread of 6.6 sec i thought it must be some kind of record.
It's not (2nd largest spread since new Q rules 2013?) and I would'nt have bothered posting except i thought it was funny that it is our friend still riding around twin rings (AOYAMA) who's at the bottom of the biggest spread at 10 sec.
Anyway as a Miller fan (and knowing my views on wet races are quite unpopular) if the track temp stays under 20 deg and he stays above 68 (yeah i've been waiting for a while to use that one) I'm hoping he can sniff out a 3rd.
93, 35, 43?

I think that's a chance of happening, he was right up there in all sessions he just has to keep it upright.

Hi .......

And yet people question why Hayden is at P.I. and not Aoyama. Doh.

What is your view on wet races? Someone, like me, is probably in complete agreement. I am supportive if it is unpopular just to reinforce my iconoclast personality.

I've been watching these guys for 30 odd years. I've always loved the wet races. One barometer i use to gauge the new guys coming through, and you can see some quite heroic riding.
I have a theory that if they hypnotized Miller into thinking every race was wet he'd be right up there (data engineer might help too).

I'm a bit on the fence with wet races, they are a great equaliser and allows riders skills to shine a bit more, but only if they are proper wet. If they aren't a full wet race they can be about tyre choices and pitstop timing.

I prefer it dry or proper wet, but not changing through the race. Still love watching it either way though.

I have no issue with wet races as you should have to confront that which is placed in your way, however I also fully recognise the safety aspects of excessive water laying or streaming across a track and as such feel that there are limits to what is 'raceable' vs what becomes 'far to risky'.

As for the old adage that wet is the great equaliser, I am a firm believer in that but temper that by saying that a great wet weather rider on a poor bike will still struggle more than a poor wt weather rider on a good bike (and by that, meaning well sorted in all aspects), thus why it levels the field and does not invert it
