No . ps started in 2005, although it was called Motogpforum.com back then. Dorna forced Ben to change the name iirc.

seriously?

Yup. Dorna used to repeatedly email Admin with threats because of their intellectual rights to the name Motogp, even though this place was called motogpforum.com. Ben had to buy a new domain to get them off his back and Powerslide.net was born.

I think Kropotkin had to change the name of his site too, despite he and Ben both essentially being in the business of giving free publicity to Dorna's enterprise.

I can understand companys protecting their trade marks but Dorna are OTT. It's not as if sites like this took revenue away from Dorna or earn money from using the logo in part. In fact it may have even earned them revenue. Many people bought the Motogp streaming package after learning about it on site's like these. Members meeting up on mass and attending races is another example.

I believe they also threatened court action to shut this site down because one or two members posted motogp pictures here rather than link to their site. Just look how quickly they get youtube clips pulled.

I guess videos and TV rights are actually Dorna's product, but  the occasional you tube video is surely only going to attract subscribers to their video package, not act as a substitute for subscription.

I could understand them acting when whole races are posted up, but clips as you say are no substitute and if anything may wet the appetite for some and generate more followers of the sport..

I like Stoner, did you know just about every single one of my friends, to a man, thinks he is a .... (few exceptions).

I think VR's titles were facilitated, most of the world thinks he they were earned straight up. (again, i'm in the minority)

I think MM's Moto2 bike was a cheater, most people disagree with me (few exceptions).

I think JRea is worthless, LeviG agrees, my other friends think hes great (dumb .......s)

I think Pedro is worthless.  Did you know LeviG (the guy who call you out) owns a #26 hat to spite me. (......)

I think MM should have been penalized for Jerez, most here think it was just fair aggressive racing incident (I'm in minority)

I think most riders are a a lot more even then we give them credit, parity making us think aliens exist. (Me, minority)

I think the CEV is ........, most on the forum think it produces the best riders (I remain in the minority).

Don't know what the .... is going on with forum but unable to edit post properly and quoting Jum and then adding a comment makes it look like my comment is Jum's but....

I agree with what you have said above except for the Pedro bit.

Seriously cut my internet time and started living more. Between work, kids, wife and Kung Fu I have very little time for much else. Even sold my dirt bike! Have even missed the last few races as there seems little point in watching when you know 1 of 2 riders will win it and the next 10 finish in order of bike quality. Watching Lorenzo ride bores the absolute .... out of me and Yamaha have turned down Crutchlows bike so he is not even in it anymore either. Rossi should have retired when he lost his bike advantage then everyone wouldn't have known he really was only average so watching him blow someone else's opportunity for a factory bike just frustrates me.

The only bike racing that interests me now is AMA MX/SX. Moto GP sucks.
