No pun intended, right?

If there was such thing as training without risk, there would be a lot more athletes in this world. The training for what it is your competing in should be harder than the actual event itself, thats what makes it training.

They need a certain type of cardio that they can only get from things like mx and cycling. But no doubt nothing would hone in their skills better than motocross. Its like a baseball player warming up with a weighted baseball bat.

The "stimulator" part was unintentional and doubtless, Freudian.
The G forces part I only took into consideration after posting it - and thought
"Wonder if anyone here even recalls the expression "G Spot"? So I just
left it in.

From the report it doesn't sound like jorge was doing anything over the top and it was just one of those things. <span style="font-family:Arial BlackEntering an actual motocross race, as I think nicky hayden did leading to an injury in 2008, is arguably pushing it too far though, although in that particular case he may just have wanted to recapture the feeling of racing on a decent bike.
hayden injured himself in 04 doing supermotard. i think your thinkin of hoppers motocross mishap. don't think he was actually in a race tho.

michaelm remembers it correctly, although it wasn't a race as such, it was an exhibition ride in the summer break of 08.

Hayden injured his heel and missed Brno completely. Misano he rode Fri/Sat, but decided not to race due to the pain & swelling.

The incident in L.A. was supermoto at the xgames. So you are both right.

ooops i forgot about that... i stand corrected.... sorry mich..... carry on..........

Just read on 606 by the bbc contributor Julian S, Lorenzo is doubtful for the Qatar test as well.

So many Moto gp, 125 and 250 riders practice MX! Here close to Bologna, at Sasso Marconi and Faenza, I have seen Melandri ona a Kawi last year (rode for 45minutes straight - serious cardio), Dovizioso (Honda) and Since (Aprilia)....

But you can crash hard and not do much damage, or yo ucan do lots...look at what happened to me a few years back...but I still do it!

Since testing is now at a minimum, they will do it even more unless otherwise specified in ones contract. It keeps your reflexes high and bike balance, always moving around on the bike... Physically, its one of the most demanding sports in the world.
