JEREZ RD2: Predictions, Practice, Qual

That 1.3 to 1.6 second separation raising its ugly head again. That is the area that Melandri lagged behind Stoner before he lost his mind and said .... it.That is the area that Nicky lagged behind Stoner in 09, but he kept working and eventually got to where he was within 3-4 10ths in 2010. Now we have Rossi, undeniably one of the all time greats, and were is he, 1.4 to 1.5 seconds behind the front .It appears that the bike is just a total ....... slug that unless ridden by Stoner, is a mid pack bike at best

Rossi? he is irrelevant this season. Maybe next year. It is really amazing battle in the front. So much at stake to all top three, unless they bin it, should be close the whole season

Must admit I was a bit stunned with Stoner pole. I had pretty much resigned myself to the thought that Jerez is not a Stoner circuit, But with Rossi and Hayden etx. so far back ........... I'm beginning to think maybe it wasn't/isn't a Ducati circuit.

WHat the hell is the go with Hayden this year though !!??
<

Jerez being Jerez, Rossi will cut through the back markers. Simoncelli and Dovisioso will be tricky though.

Hope Hayden can get up there aswell.

Lorenzo will win the race imo.

Given that Lorenzo and Pedrosa went the whole session crash free

(as compared to all the other top contenders) .... come to your

own conclusions. I'd be happy enough if Stoner didn't crash

and took 2nd.

I say: Go Spies

and

Go De Puniet (tho not as fast as Spies)

Wouldn't mind seeing Lorenzo win here. His racecraft is

fabulous.

well that was a crashtastic session. Impressed with Cal.

Considering he's never been to this track, I'd say both of us impressed compa.

About the session, almost everybody went down. I hope Aoyama is ok. I really want him to do well this year.

It seems all of the crashes were front end issues. I'm thinking that rear tire is pushing the front quite a bit. The top 3 look to be a lock barring a DNF (which is very probable tomorrow). However I think we will see a much different picture from the rest of the order. I fully expect Rossi to be in top 5 tomorrow. For anybody tempted to think his front end wash is the end of the world, consider that Yamaha had three similar problems, and we are talking Yamaha here, a very front end stable bike. His practice sessions were decent but that 2nd bike proved to b a dog. Tomorrow they will have his A bike together. Nicky on the other hand, I won't be surprised to see him out of the top 10 in the race.

Hopkins did well in Qual. He finished only 0.125 behind Rossi and 0.093 from the next guy Barabara. Behind Edwards from 9-15 are within a half second of eachother, where Hopkins is basically 0.31 behind positions 9. If you look at it in terms of gap, consider that Spies' gap is larger to Lorenzo at .6 than all the riders from 9-16 are from eachother. I'd say he will finish in the points come race (yeah, not earth shattering in such a small field, but that's something better than a few that thought he's be 2 seconds off the pace). May I add, Hopkins was not sacked from GP, the manufacture quit and he was left without a job. The guy who was kept on as Dorna paid for the entry to pad the grid is now in Wsbk. Some questioned is Hopkins GP quality and perhaps was undeserving of what appears to be a one off ride, but so far he's doing ok.

Let's wait for the warm up session, if it's a wet one or who can find a better setup. So far it's between the 3 Aliens of this moment. Stoner is the fastest, but usually Lorenzo performs better in the race, Pedrosa is a question mark, can he ride the whole race on his 100% or not? If he cant, then this race should be Stoner's.

I think the race will finish like Qatar. but i hope to see Simonch or Spies or both to shine and mix it with the top3 in front and even beat one of them to a podium place.

I think rossi getting a top 5 would be optimistic but you can never rulew the boy out. Its going to be a 3 way fight tomorow with Dan stoner and lorenzo.

Did i see Lorenzo sucking a lolly pop in parc ferme? Misses thinks it was his drinks bottle. I ask because if he was it could meen sponsorship

Love watching rdp ride that duc, really hope he stays on tomoroow and has a decent finish!

Actually be nice to see a wet race for a change, not sure who wil win then but do think its stoners in the dry but hopefuly lorenzo wil at least give him a race, you have top believe pedders will fade if its dry!

another epic qualy lap from stoner.... he will make many benchmarks for next season

top 3 very close i think.....

marco will be on dovi's bike soon.

great job from cal also spies..

rossi will have to make a good start tomorow

Nicky looks dejected. What a ...... proposition to be in, judged on your results while not given the tools to defend yourself. (yeah yeah, my bias opinion, so what).

I think your misses was fantasizing about Lorenzo. Looks like you got yourself another nemesis in your own home.

What was that QP session?

80%-100% chance of rain, and guys are chuckin it down the road for a one place improvement in grid position. Very strange. Who didn't crash during QP?

weird...two weekends in a row rossi does well FP1 and fp2...but doesn't improve

hopefully it's a dry race tomorrow!
