Pish, one of ur worst takes. Nicky endures two years of .... treatment with Honda. Never badmouthing and biting his tongue at the consistent shitting on him. Ducati needed another rider after the one of them quite literally quit. Ducati offer him a factory ride along side a teammate which he would get along with while paying him a decent contract. How exactly did he sell out for money? R u feeling ok, cuz u sound like supershit.

Now should we revist how Rossi ended up at Ducati to contrast?

Oh, stop rationalizing Rossis .... performance on said bike. Hes not in his twighlight years. If hed still b riding the M1 he'd b in the hunt for the championship. Hes still young and ever more savvy. He just sux at a bike that isnt near the best. Now he knows what its like to ride what 90% of grid hav had to compete with against him.

ahhhh, the joys of "the grass is greener" effect! Soon stress and anger will recur - it's is not a byproduct of the tool(s) used but rather a trait of the craftsman...

You don't think anyone else would get a little tense with constantly balancing the thing on the edge of crashing then, when awash with adrenaline after getting off the bike, being told by everyone that he was obviously on the fastest bike and that it must be so easy particularly with the electronics riding the bike for him? He was also criticised for only doing short runs when it now appears likely he was constantly seeking a good set-up which valentino himself has now found doesn't exist.

Dani just looked absolutely miserable in the post-qualifying interviews, I really hope his surgery helps his nerve and/or arterial problems.

Jorge didn't look happy, but did look feisty and is I agree a good chance for the race.

Hopkins should be there on a permanent basis.

Hopkins.
<

Lets not forget the last time he rode the thing he podiumed - knowing what a piece of crap the suzuki is he should still get a start over someone like Elias.

Pedrosa is probably as pissed or more that Honda hired a rider that would make him work his ... off.

Back in my hotel now. Before I go 2 sleep let me tell u what kinda happened 2day. In qualifying we had 2 bikes set up quite differently. This is because every session 4 us is a test, this year more than most. The bike that VR crashed was it turned out the best setting & I belive possibly front row or close 2 that. The other bike was set up in such a way, that to make it the same in qual as the crashed bike would have taken us way to long, so we just plowed on. Sometimes its just the way it goes. 2nite the riders was fine & happy like always. I guess we will c what 2morrow brings. Goodnight

@jums...seems like VR is starting to get to grips with the bike...one thing's for certain, it would make for a more interesting championship (although if qatar's to be followed, this looks to be a good year already). will we finally see a stoner/jlo clash? if they go head to head, it'll be AMAZING, a glimpse of the future

If you look back at my posts on this thread, I pretty much called it as Alex describes above (and I didn't know the B bike was set up so differently at the time, but just from guestimating on observation of the rest of his practice). Even Rossi fans didn't believe my "optimism".
<
But I try and call it like I see it, and it really did look to me Rossi was getting on well enough; and it was the B bike that was crap. Alex probably got to sleep late because they put that A bike back together. Mark my words, if its dry tomorrow, he will be top 5 in warm up (if not top five lap position, his race pace will be top five). I'm not rooting for Rossi, but having watched him in every practice, he looked as comfortable as he could be considering. I'll add, that if his race turns out to be ...., he will blame it on his shoulder as the explanation. Which I'm not buying its bothering him as much as he's leading on (that is NOT to say I don't believe he has a shoulder issue, but just not to the degree/magnitude in which he reminds us so often). If its a wet race, you will see Rossi near the podium (barring a crash or run off). You wanna bet? A beer at Laguna?

Edit: I see talps below salivating. Don't get your hopes up so much, Rossi loves Jerez, that accounts for some of my prediction.

Good post.

I think Furusawa's premature retirement, (which he attributed to to Rossi's defection) has had a massive effect

I thought it was the other was the other way around. Rossi said one of the reasons for moving from Yamaha was the retirement of Furusawa

The Jumkie whose posts I have been reading the last few days seems to be the Jumkie NV (Nice Version). Way to go

I guess the M1 he got in 2004 was the top bike of the grid?
