Firstly it's nice to know that they may be racing at Jerez if they find a sponsorship, I hope they do get it sorted out for qualifying and the race.
Judging by Mario Illien's answers to the questions it seems that most of this problem is coming down to poor sponsorship and business affairs, and Roger Penske (who is 50% shareholer) doesn't look like he wants to help too much either!
Shame to hear that Triumph still don't want anything to do with Moto GP. If they did come to Moto GP however, Ilmor's problems may be fewered and even finished. There seems to be many small things that are making up a big problem for Ilmor.
Good to see that Ilmor have been able to pay off what they owed to Michelin, Ohlins and the others that are involved and that they haven't paid through to the end of the season, they may have saved themselves a little here.
It looks like all they need right now is the money to fund themselves in races as they have the riders, mechanics and team members to begin whenever they want. Looks like Ilmor is still a well-organised team to be perfectly honest.
Mario Illien claims that something has to happen for Ilmor before June or May; otherwise they will be too far behind. Surely this is enough time for a big sponsor or help to come in, otherwise I wouldn't think anyone is interested.
Ilmor seem to still be testing on the dyno, and they also claim they still have the four bikes and spare parts if they need them which is always re-assuring!
Also good news to hear that the problems in Qatar were not permanent and perhaps just a one-off, this gives further hope for those Ilmor fans!
