Hopefully he would but he's always going to have his detractors, same as in every sport. Winning 2 will put him right up in the top echelon of champions so he should. I know Gudang will love him either way

Stoner gets more respect as a one time champ than Haystack ever got! Seriously though He's won his first title, with a very nice package, (rider included,) if he repeats the feat this year, it would be the proof that he is here to stay. Coming in against someone with Rossi's pedigree is always gonna be an uphill fight to prove yourself. The guy's pedigree, both as a rider and the huge impact he has had in popularising GP, is awesome.
And I'm sure that if Stoner does take the title, then Vale will be one of the first to give him props.

If Rossi fails, Lorenzo is very strong as we saw and probably has alot more hunger and hes already a double champ at world level.
He won't be fazed by Stoner.
