hondas pneumatic will race at mugello

actualy the problem i think is that they found a very good balance with the current bike and if they use the pneumatic engine then the chassis needs to be changed a bit and the balance could be gone.

The new bike may help the 2006 champ, Dovisioso, DeAngelis, DePuniet etc....

It may but if I remember correctly the customer were not going to get the pneumatic power bike at all this year...and as for the 'first customer' rider he would get it once Dani is happy with its progess for his riding style....IMO.

Right you are migs on the customer spec bikes getting the upgrade engine.
I am still miffed at Hayden's lack of position or importance at HRC. He is the good company man and he is getting the good company Rod.

I can understand why you are miffed, but you have to keep in mind Honda history....they are not a nice company, riders win because of the bike not the rider....so nothing should shock when it come to HRC...

Do you think Nicky knows he is getting shafted, and if so what should he do?

Taddy Okada to ride the new pneumatic sprung engine at Mugello....what if it rains!!!!???? What if he's faster than Dani in practise? watch who gets the bike then

What if who is faster than dani? Tady?
Tady was an old fart when Rossi first starting racing in the 500's. Thats like Randy mamola going faster than Stoner...
It won't happen.

off topic-Now Randy may go faster than Melandri but I doubt that as well.

Back to topic..
Tady is a development rider with years past his due date. He will not go faster than anyone.... (maybe westy) I think with the thumping that Yamaha put on Honda at LeMans Pedrosa will definitely get the engine upgrades. Hayden may get it much later down the road.

I think when the engine gets raced is down to Pedrosa's preference. Should he lose or a couple more all yamaha podiums and the Pneumatic will quickly find a home in the paddock.

on German Eurosport the commentators said Pedrosa don´t want the pneumatic engine!

so we will see!

I know he was, and I know he won't, it wasn't meant to be taken literally - I was playing devils advocate with a hypothetical situation, which however unlikely would be funny. I was speculating more about the new engine immediately outperforming the existing one in the 'bots garage.

He was good in the wet though. He was teammate to Colin once as well wasn't he.

In 2001 at Castrol Honda, if I remember he seemed to DNF nearly every race that season.

So much so that Tuxworth pledged to buy him a fancy coffee making machine if he got on the block

After todays race, the little #2 is going to blame HRC for not already giving it to him.

WHY? His problem were not power, he passed several Yamahas on power, only to be passed on the brakes. Maybe what he really want is pnumatic brakes, Give it to him I say.

maybe his problem is fuel efficiency? maybe the pneumo-valve engine is not a huge step forward in terms of power but maybe makes more use of the fuel, allowing it to not need so much leaning off towards the end of races?
maybe thats the biggest boost of the new engine design...

thats a lot of maybes there..

but it could be a reason.

He had no top speed advantage at all compared to Yamaha and of course nowhere near Ducati in that area. They really need the new engine.

So far Dani's talent has been flattening the bike, but they can't expect to win the title with that power disadvantage. And the rest of Hondas were nowhere (except Dovi who did pretty well).

Dani's weight has been flattering both the bike and him and speed wise that put him at least on equal terms as the Yamahas. If you didn't see how he passed or allmost passed Rossi on power several times today we wern't watching the same race. I know my tv was showing Le Mans Live, what were you watching? There was absolutly nothing wrong with the power on that bike. But sure, give him a huge enough advantage and even he might win a championship, but as a fan of spaniards I would put my money on Jorge if I were you.
Also check the Le Mans speed trap, it's in trun 1, right where his heavy chatter started. I bet he had the speed and power but not the chassi to reach the maximum at the speed trap.
