Gran Premio Tribul Mastercard di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini 2017

Brilliant race from Marquez, really wanted Danilo to win but that was amazing!
Re Zarco , don't riders have to be on the bike crossing the line?

Rossi fans classless as usual booing Marquez on the podium after cheering Lorenzos crash.

LOL @ the Valeban booing Marquez on the podium. :1a:

Too bad, so sad. Maybe next year, Valeban?

Nope. Marquez will be there. B)

A win for Petrucci would have been well deserved, but you have to respect MM for risking 20 points to gain the win and extra 5 points the next race after a mechanical DNF. It is what defines him I guess.

He continues to humanise by the day for me as well. Very cordial with Dovi post race despite their closeness in the title race.

You are obviously a Rossi hater.

I don't hate Rossi. I hate the Valeban. He has his place in Grand Prix history and that place is history. I was a fan of his from his 500GP debut through the early MotoGP years when he had no equal or close competitors. I just don't care for the way he carries himself as a competitor when faced with equal or superior talent.

You are preaching to the converted. This has been dubbed the "Rossi Haters" forum by multiple members of the Valeban.

I go a little further than you while also acknowledging his place in GP bike racing history and obvious genuine greatness as a rider. I now see him as complicit with the Valeban after previously reserving my disdain for them rather than him.

Marquez is a shark--a fantastic creature perfected for it purpose and compelled by nature when it smells blood. Marc's instinct when faced with a win is simply primal. We've seen some amazing single laps by Marquez, just as recently as Silverstone pole, but this last lap, in these conditions, with the backdrop of what is on the line, i just feel fortunate to be watching.

It must also be mentioned, but im fascinated that many who were in attendance, experiencing the conditions first hand, watching the drama unfold, and supposedly there at some level to witness an appreciation and understanding of 'motorcycle racing' ( frankly unique in motorsport) would see this last lap with their own eyes, then with similar primal instinct except in reverse, run out to the podium ceremony in part to execute what their nature demanded, to boo, jeer, and express their disaproval to the thrill of motorcycling excelence they just witnessed moments before.

Actually, we dont need to look much further than this forum to see a window into this mindset, every time MissAngel makes an appearance it's something of an aperture into this unique cult mentality, exemplified by today's audible cheers when Lorenzo crashed. The sound engineers didnt even have to manipulate the sound mix as the chorus by the spectators was loud enough to drown out the exhaust note and commentators' voice. Commentators who usually make a point of alerting us of the sound mixer's cue that Rossi has just done something we should approve.

Dovi & Vinalez were smart to take the points. After seeing Moto2/3 it was the right bet. I should also ask, how many riders must crash before Race Indiscretion deems the conditions unsafe?

Other mentionables, this was a great opportunity for Lorenzo which he threw away. He should pray for rain again, ah the irony. Loris Baz deserves to be in MotoGP, a man who quietly goes about his business. Despite the crash, his effort up to that point was commendable. Zarco pushing his bike across the finish line was great. Michelin in most races continues to be detrimental to Pedrosa, wet or dry. I expected more from Miller today. i cant be sympathetic to Lowes, he really needed to finish, but it's looking like despite Hack Oxley's typical pro-pagand, he just cant ride for the bloke from the seat of his keyboard.

Well done to Petrux. He looked like his dog had just died in parc ferme. He did the best he could. He was a fish today in the wet, but there was a shark in the water.

Ambition was greater than talent
We could propose a 'doctoral' dissertation on the mindset of the Yellow Minions. It's got to be some kind discernible genetic glitch waiting to be discovered by medical science. To use a parody on a quote made famous to highlight Rossi’s momentary failure in the rain, to then employ it because your yellow instinct by nature compels you to clamor on Lorenzo's crash today is intriguing stuff. This is not and example of irony, it's a far more fascinating affliction you exhibit.

What reigning World Champion Marc Marquez had to say about today's cheering of Lorenzo's crash. How is it that Rossi is called the grand old statesman and 38 year old veteran while he acts like a petulant child whilst this young man is the voice of reason?

And let me reiterate, the media is complicit as much as Rossi himself. Oh, we'll see them suddenly saying yeah it's bad to cheer crashes, but their general timidness on the subject so as not to ruffle Rossi’s sentiments or his fans has been deafening. They made more hoopla over writing and asking every rider in the paddock about Rossi's training heroics than asking everyone to comment on Rossi's fans behavior and the man himself who has egged it on.

They had a choice? If Lorenzo had eased up a tag they would have been another place down. Dovi tried to pass Marc, and Marc said NO! When 93 is on, he is just better than anyone out there and very hard to beat. He had three or four close calls, but just kept pushing. He was even smarter NOT to settle for the five less points and to win the race and tie up the Championship. Today was a perfect reason why I have been a MM fan since he cleaned clock in Moto2.

I thought the fans were better in Misano than Mugello, but I guess the little yellow monsters are all over the damn place. I can hardly wait till they disappear from MotoGP races, FOREVER.

When Jum is right - he's right. The evidence is in and it's shown repeatedly that Marquez has the ability to manifest the Alien Factor almost at will, and surpass expectations like today. I mean - it's been there from the start, only now that he's matured, you don't hear people after a race commenting on his "win-it-or-bin-it" mentality. I'd bet money that either Vinales or Dovi could have squeezed out a tenth here or there, but neither has Marquez's supreme confidence. I (and Pov as well) predicted it would be like this if it rained. When it comes to Marquez, I've come to think that whatever he does, should not come as a surprise, and yet today, when my expectations were that the Ducatis would have the advantage in the rain, Marquez pulled yet another rabbit out of the hat.

Got to say, I was really disappointed in Lorenzo, trying to win it in the first 5 laps; tho I have massive respect for his willingness to go way outside his comfort zone to do so.
