Hey y'all, just registered on here.

I don't think I've ever had less confidence in Marc even finishing a race (or sprint). At this point I'm just hoping he won't get injured again.
He finally accepted his fate in the sprint. But that's probably be because he's saving it all for Sunday. There's no way he finishes the race tomorrow. He really is losing it.

It wont happen but Papa Marquez needs to step in and do some fatherly stuff (as opposed to meal ticket manipulation) to look out for his son.

MM will be a spent force or critically injured at this rate and of serious concern for me is what he 'learns' on todays Honda and then takes to another manufacturer (shoudl he leave) in terms over-riding bad habits.

I would be genuinely interested (knowing this would not/could not occur) if Michelin could produce a tyre specific for that bike in testing to see how much is bike, how much is rider and how much is tyres in terms of issue

Saw that. Big call as you say from Mick

I do wonder though if MM were to leave, woud this spell the current end for HRC who may well move to another series.

He has to move on from Honda.

Honda should allow another team to buy Marc Marquez out of his last year at Honda, if they want him as a rider.

Marquez might be able to better Rossi in the title chase if he just leaves Honda at the end of this year. That's his only chance.

Staying with Honda next year is just a waste of everyones time.

Gonna changet he narrative a little bit here - and it may well end up with a separate thread but people seem to heavily want to apint MM for a lot of things not so great, even the current state of the Honda itself but across the last 2 or so years, how much input has he had?

No doubt HRC listen to him, but he has not had much uninjured riding acrosst he last few years, so he has been hindered heavily so I suspect the data feedback has not been of the highest quality to use to develop the machine.

Everyone is blaming Honda (not unfairly) but does this current state also show the results of a combination of factors that started with Pedrosa leaving and leaving them short a genuine alien like test rider?

Sure they have Stefan Bradl but he was more a seat filler than an alien competitor and without being overyly critical, he simply cannot compete at the pace of a Marquez and never has been able to compete to that level, but it is his data that has formed a part of direction.

Absolutely, placing all the eggs in a single basket has come home to roost but for mine, HRC need to get out and find someonet hat can compete in time terms with Marquez and then push from there. We have seen many times over the years (ie. Ducati era with Stoner and others) that sometimes an issue is not apparent until you have that 'special' rider on it, else the standard rider is not not finding that edge.

As much as I like Marquez and his ability to push a motorcycle harder than anyone I've seen, it ain't just about him.
I am interested to see how Martin can go in the longer race today.
Wonder if Binder can get closer.
Bastianini ain't fit yet but can't wait until he is.

My preference would be Miller, but that is my total bias as for me, it would be awesome if that unsung bogan could become the first to win races on 3 different brands ................ reckon that little shout would upset so many people around the place as he is considered somewhat not worthy.

Expectation.

Binder is possible as that guy is Marquez on a KTM - no fear.

Bagnaia still does not have a big enough lead to start taking things easy but this is also around the time of year where he will have a bad result.

Gonna go left field - Zarco.

Never had a win in the main game and he is well overdue plus to me, the pass he put on Binder shows an intent as well as his anger at being painted for the MM incident

For me a telling moment was Q2, when Marc returned to pits and mechanics had basically packed up. For Marc's mentality he pushes and tries to the very end. He saw this and thought .... them. .... HRC.

Ah the butchering of Mir's Honda that just happened to be there lol

Pedro with another dominant win, surely he'll be promoted next year.

Ai is in the middle of nowhere this year but he's probably not unhappy if he doesn't get transferred to LCR next year.

I don't see Marc lasting 30 laps today, let alone 10 laps. It's extremely frustrating to see my favorite rider on my home track and his best track struggling that much.
I know Marc missed most of the 2022 "pre-season" and Honda couldn't rely on his input but producing such a crappy bike is just not acceptable for the world's biggest manufacturer.

Edit: Withdrawing was the right decision imo.

Sure it is. Name one other person who has pushed this bike consistently like Marc has. Rins had one good race and everyone is ready to crown him king of the .... bike. Marc consistently over achieves on this bike in qualifying and in the race until he bins it. In the sprint race he gave up and still finished 10th or 11th on a bike that looked like it was on ice. No one on this planet can match what he is doing on the garbage pale of a bike. Fabio can't even get close on a terrible yamaha that is definitely not as bad as the honduh. It is 100% Marcs ability.

Bravo Martin! Fantastic job. He is a good shot at winning the championship. Bagnia as usual is his own worst enemy. I knew something was going to go wrong with how close he was following. He was lucky it wasn't worse. I wonder who he will blame for this. Marc Marquez maybe?

Normally, I get bored if it's all about two riders way ahead of the field for 90% of the race, but I got into it today, wanting to see if Martin would choke, or if Baggy would try something desperate. Martin seems to have a very chill mentality. Whereas I could swear I heard Bagnaia grinding his teeth over those last two laps. He sure LOOKED like a gracious loser in Parc Ferme, but I can't help wondering if he'll be able to keep that up if Martin continues to top the podium.

Thought it was a good race, Bags running a good thinking man’s race trying to conserve the tire but that touch on Martin’s back wheel broke the momentum. Good for Martin, he withstood the pressure.

I missed it, what happened to Binder? In any case, another podium for Zarco but when or can he win one? Would love to see it but sometimes a guy just can’t get there. His personal history working against him and there are a lot of hungry riders on the same bike.

After yesterday, I thought MM was going to try and finish the race but went missing from the lineup this morning. Oh well. When all is said and done, yes the Honda is a .... bike, BUT it went to .... on his watch. The ..... in the armor being his inability to help continue to develop the bike both before and after Lorenzo was injured. Some will say he hasn’t been around much to do that but he wasn’t doing it before he got hurt, which was entirely his doing. Too long a spell at Honda without another competitive rider. Things went went downhill there after Pedrosa was let go.

At Yamaha things are hardly better. Fabs also responsible for no development at Yamaha. He inherited a winning bike but failed to make it better. Again, lack of a competitive teammate didn’t help.

Now how much of all that is due to both factories either pinching pennies or just failing in the engineering department I suspect we will never really know. For each team, failing to secure another competitive rider didn’t help in the long run.

Ah well, the Ducati cup it is. At least it was a close race this morning.
