I didn't watch it at the time since it was about a year before i got back into F1, however i have seen the video since and it is one of the best F1 races i have seen from recent times.
It was GREAT for sure!!! Not only that move, but the whole race. People like MS, FA and also Kimi started from the back, so that obviously made things more interesting!! Whenever I'm bored I watch that race, I have it on dvd.

I still think Fisi should have won that race, if it was FA, KR or MS they wouldn't have lost.
He was driving way too defensively when it actually wasn't necessary, BUT I'm obviously NOT complaining
<

So, you watched from early 2006 then?

well yeah, i got more and more casual watching it when Hakkinen was doing well, i remember the odd race but i was mainly watching motogp. Then i got back into a bit at the end of 05 then really started watching in 2006 and watched MS finish his career. And now i feel like a rookie because i missed so much and all you guys know everything!

Hakkinen was great, wasn't he????
<

I used to like him a lot, and I can remember when he won in 98 and 99, I was soooo happy for the guy. In his early F1 years he was kinda unlucky. So, I was glad when he finally won the title, he really deserved it!!!

Anyway, dont feel like a rookie!!!

From what I've read, you don't talk crap on here. Believe it or not, you actually make sense..lol

Not everyone liked Hakkinen, but everyone respected him. To come back from the 95 incident and achieve what he did took balls. But the man had no luck. I can remember watching Catalunya '01 and wanting to cry for the guy. And Hockenheim '99 could have been alot worse...

I think 2005 was a nice season, not that exciting maybe, since it was pretty obvious halfway through that Fernando was gonna win. At least I saw Raikkonen win 7 races
<
(I can remember Janpan 05 as if it was yesterday!!!!).

haha... I hope I'll have better reason (to tease him) but Lewis!
Japan was excellent!!! Also, I don't like Fisi very much, so...

I guess we (normal people WITH brains!!

I guess he must think he's really that good!!! Personally I have nothing against Ralf, he's actually a good driver, BUT that's it really, he's good, he's definitely not great! He did a good job a few years back, but tbh, I think if his brother was driving the Williams (in 2003) he would have won the title, Ralf didn't, but then again, MS is really one of a kind!!

I think we have talked about it before, but his name is both a gift and a curse. And i agree he is a solid driver, but in the top 3 is a bit unrealistic. I wonder if he would still say that now hes seen how good Massa and Hamilton actually are. Self belief is a big part of being successful at that level though, so i wouldn't take his comments too seriously (just like Colin Edwards).

It's indeed unrealisitc. I don't rate him that high actually, like I said he's good, but not that good (imho). Do you rate him in the top 5??
I definitely don't, imo, people like FA, KR, FM, LH, NH, GF are better. Two out of these drivers haven't won a GP yet, but I'm sure Lewis will win a GP soon!!! And Nick is better than good I think, he's one of the underrated drivers in F1, he didn't have a winning able car in his career, otherwise he would have won a GP for sure!!!

I agree with this!!!
I think self belief is the most important thing if you want to be successful, cause let's be honest, if you don't believe you are good, then why the hell would someone else think you are??? So, I do not blame Ralf at all (and I like funny guys, clearly he is funny
<
).

The top four is obvious in my opinion, but after that there is a massive pile of drivers to consider for the next best, and its harder to know how well their cars are. I'd put Ralf in the bottom half of the top ten for sure.

Maybe you should race!! You certainly have no trouble believing you are good at everything

You see, I could do that, but what would be the point????
I would beat all the guys every single time, it just wouldn't be exciting anymore..
So, therefore, I won't compete against them, I wouldn't wanna be ''the girl'' who beats the hell out of em, that would definitely damage their ''male ego''. I could never do that amigo..but then again, it would be fun!!!

He wouldn't mind if I'd beat him, cause I would buy him lots of vodka after, and that's apparently all he cares about..lol

The tyres seem to be the latest scribble in the drivers excuse book, not sure if I believe it or not tbh:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Season 2007 - Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen has suggested that both he and Fernando Alonso are suffering with the same problem in 2007: Bridgestone tyres.
FORMULA 1 2007 Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari - 0

The highly-rated pair have been conspicuously outshone by their junior team-mates in recent weeks, leading to the bolstered profiles of Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton.

However Raikkonen said ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix that the switch to the single-tyre formula with Bridgestone this year has been difficult, particularly for those drivers with notably aggressive styles.

Moreover, both Alonso and Raikkonen ran on Michelin rubber last year, unlike Massa who was already at Ferrari, and GP2 champion Hamilton.

"These tyres are very different to what I was used to," Raikkonen told Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat. "And from what I heard and read, Alonso's comments have basically been the same as mine."

The designer of Raikkonen's car this year, Aldo Costa, backed the view by revealing that Raikkonen had to 'soften' his aggressive style this year.

Robert Kubica (BMW), Heikki Kovalainen (Renault) and Christijan Albers (Spyker) have also struggled to adapt their styles to the new tyres.

Kovalainen told Auto Motor und Sport: "I used to drive the Renault in the same way as Alonso did. But I have had to change back and as a result I have got closer to the way Giancarlo [Fisichella] drives."

Christijan Albers meanwhile said the situation has flattered rookies, like his rookie team-mate Adrian Sutil.

"He didn't have to adapt - and I think it's been the same for Lewis."

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Christijan Albers says that rookies like his Spyker team-mate Adrian Sutil and McLaren's sensation Lewis Hamilton have been boosted by Formula 1's switch to a single tyre supply in 2007.

The Dutch driver has been out-qualified by Sutil three times out of four so far this year, and believes that his more aggressive driving style is ill-suited to this year's harder Bridgestones.

"If you don't know what you had, you just learn how it is," Albers said.

"But if you come from last year, it's much harder.

"Adrian is doing a good job, he's a really quick driver, but also he didn't have to adapt to how it was.

"He couldn't expect something else like we had last year, because with last year's tyres it was really an F1 car, you turned in, you could push, it was really good to drive the car.

"It's good now also of course, but it's more difficult, and you see that.

"I think it's the same for Lewis."

Albers believes that some drivers at the sharp end of the field are in the same predicament.

"People who drive aggressively, like (Robert) Kubica or (Fernando) Alonso, and maybe also Kimi (Raikkonen), I think they are struggling like me," he said.

"You just have to try to adapt yourself as quickly as possible."

He says he is now getting to grips with the style required.

"We are improving all the time, the set-up as well as myself, and you see I'm coming closer," said Albers.
