The tyres seem to be the latest scribble in the drivers excuse book, not sure if I believe it or not tbh:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Season 2007 - Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen has suggested that both he and Fernando Alonso are suffering with the same problem in 2007: Bridgestone tyres.

The highly-rated pair have been conspicuously outshone by their junior team-mates in recent weeks, leading to the bolstered profiles of Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton.
However Raikkonen said ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix that the switch to the single-tyre formula with Bridgestone this year has been difficult, particularly for those drivers with notably aggressive styles.
Moreover, both Alonso and Raikkonen ran on Michelin rubber last year, unlike Massa who was already at Ferrari, and GP2 champion Hamilton.
"These tyres are very different to what I was used to," Raikkonen told Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat. "And from what I heard and read, Alonso's comments have basically been the same as mine."
The designer of Raikkonen's car this year, Aldo Costa, backed the view by revealing that Raikkonen had to 'soften' his aggressive style this year.
Robert Kubica (BMW), Heikki Kovalainen (Renault) and Christijan Albers (Spyker) have also struggled to adapt their styles to the new tyres.
Kovalainen told Auto Motor und Sport: "I used to drive the Renault in the same way as Alonso did. But I have had to change back and as a result I have got closer to the way Giancarlo [Fisichella] drives."
Christijan Albers meanwhile said the situation has flattered rookies, like his rookie team-mate Adrian Sutil.
"He didn't have to adapt - and I think it's been the same for Lewis."

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Christijan Albers says that rookies like his Spyker team-mate Adrian Sutil and McLaren's sensation Lewis Hamilton have been boosted by Formula 1's switch to a single tyre supply in 2007.
The Dutch driver has been out-qualified by Sutil three times out of four so far this year, and believes that his more aggressive driving style is ill-suited to this year's harder Bridgestones.
"If you don't know what you had, you just learn how it is," Albers said.
"But if you come from last year, it's much harder.
"Adrian is doing a good job, he's a really quick driver, but also he didn't have to adapt to how it was.
"He couldn't expect something else like we had last year, because with last year's tyres it was really an F1 car, you turned in, you could push, it was really good to drive the car.
"It's good now also of course, but it's more difficult, and you see that.
"I think it's the same for Lewis."
Albers believes that some drivers at the sharp end of the field are in the same predicament.
"People who drive aggressively, like (Robert) Kubica or (Fernando) Alonso, and maybe also Kimi (Raikkonen), I think they are struggling like me," he said.
"You just have to try to adapt yourself as quickly as possible."
He says he is now getting to grips with the style required.
"We are improving all the time, the set-up as well as myself, and you see I'm coming closer," said Albers.
