In that Dakar raid, the Peugeot drivers where 1st and 2nd they were close but the 3rd was far away, the only way they could lose the race is if they crashed out simultaneusly in the same stage (not very likely).
So since Todt couldn't pick a clear #1 he took a coin, flipped it, and said "you win" to Ari Vatanen, and "you follow" to the other guy. So that way, the 2 peugeots paraded for the rest of the stages of the rally taking it easy, no racing whatsoever and ended up 1st and 2nd as dictated by the coin.

So anyone who believes there will be equal status at Ferrari after a few races is kidding him/herself.

Great race!

Alonso was awesome he just pulled away and had the race completely under control. Hamilton also drove a great race resisting the pressure put on him by the Ferraris. Kimi was good but he looked tired and very disappointed with 3rd on the podium which suggests Ferrari thought it was more likely to be them with a win or a 1-2 finish. Massa was awful! He got way too frustrated behind Hamilton and then made a silly mistake and ended up finishing 5th, even when he had got back on the track he never recovered his pace and actually fell further behind Heidfeld.

Of the rest, Rosberg was unlucky to retire when he had 6th in the bag. Honda did better than was expected although they still only got 11th and 12th but for them at the moment that is pretty good. Their drivers seem to think that with better qualifying they could have battled for the points which does seem a bit optimistic though.

Poor Massa, he wanted too much, terrible mistake!!
(Not that I'm disappointed, I hate ferrari. I'm so messed up with Kimi in red, but I'll accept that eventually)

I don't understand why Kimi didn't try something on Hamilton after Massa's mistake. Why wait till the end?

Alonso - what can I say... good as always, but he was all alone.
I wouldn't say ''poor Massa''. It's not like he had ''badluck'' (or whatever people wanna call it). He made the mistake. It was kinda stupid actually, cause he almost made that mistake a lap before. Anyway, what's wrong with seeing Kimi in red????
<
I like it..or actually I don't care, to me it doesn't matter where he's driving, he'll be my number one no matter what. I guess I can kinda understand it if you ''don't like'' Ferrari that much. When Massa made that mistake and Kimi was in 3rd position, I was hoping to see Kimi overtake Lewis. Unfortunately that didn't happen, but it's ok though, at least he ended on the podium. Raikkonen drove a great last stint, but that was also due to the ''harder tyres'' I think. Once he had those tyres he drove faster than Lewis almost every lap. I'm not too sure whether he would have overtook Lewis if there was one more lap to go, but for sure it would have been exciting. Hopefully Kimi will win in Bahrein

Ah okay, thanks for that!

<div align="center<span style="font-size:14pt;line-height:100%<span style="color:#000000Davidson wants anti-stall issue solved

Anthony Davidson has urged Super Aguri to investigate the problems he is having with their anti-stall system, after hitting trouble for the second race running in Malaysia last weekend.

Davidson was ahead of teammate Takuma Sato in the early stages of the race but lost out to the Japanese when his anti-stall kicked in as he exited the pits following his pit stop.

That cost him vital seconds as the car bogged down - just as happened at the start of the Australian Grand Prix when he was left stranded on the grid with a similar problem.

Davidson believes his team need to look into the issue as best they can to ensure there is no repeat in Bahrain this weekend.

"The bloody anti-stall kicked in again," said Davidson. "We're really going to have to work on those heat-of-the-moment starts out of the box - it's just too touch-and-go whether it does that for me.

"It's something that I'm apparently doing. The car goes initially and then goes into anti-stall. By then you've lost two or three seconds and that puts you out of sync straight away. That's how I lost that place to Taku."

Although Super Aguri did not match their impressive Melbourne form in Malaysia last weekend, Davidson is confident that they will show better in terms out out-and-out pace at Sakhir.

"Hopefully in Bahrain we'll have a similar balance to the March test when we had a great test," he said. "The degradation was good. We had a good weekend in Melbourne and we think it will be a lot better than it was in Malaysia.

"I'll just keep getting better and better and will relish the chance to fight Taku for the whole race this time."

That mistake was pretty silly... that's why I felt sorry for him at the moment.

So will he do it?
I think he can. It also depends on Ferrari's performance. I personally think Ferrari will be the team to beat in Bahrain. IF Ferrari can make it a ''1-2'' this weekend, it's gonna be a bit more difficult, cause then he has to beat Nando to end on the podium. I'm ''assuming'' Ferrari will be strong, if that won't be the case Lewis will make it to the podium for sure. I really hope he will, after all, he's my 2nd favourtite!!

Can't wait..GO KIMI!!! GO LEWIS!!!!!!!!

Non of these are Hamiltons familiar circuits yet, they arn't in the gp2 series. Lets wait for silverstone shall we, i think thats going to be the defining moment of his season. He has raised expectations already and the british public will get beind him, but if he cracks it could harm him badly.

i think that bodes well for him.. if he can perform well at unfamiliar tracks then lets see what he can do when he does know it

True..but I have the feeling he won't crack under pressure. Obviously I can't be sure, but he seems to be so calm. I think he did a fantastic job so far, like you said, these circuits weren't familiar to him. So, it's gonna be very interesting to see how he will perform on familiar tracks!! I'm sure he's gonna win a GP this season..I can't wait for that moment!!

In both races so far Ferrari have suffered from either their own mistakes or mechanical problems. At Melbourne, Massa looked good for the win or P2 but had problems in qualifying. At Sepang, Massa made a mistake which cost him a possible podium and Kimi had a slight engine problem in the closing stages say Ferrari that prevented him from attacking Lewis. Lewis has without doubt benefited from this and he probably would have not been on the podium at Melbourne but i think he would still have been at Sepang.

P3, P2, P1 would be cool but i'm not sure Lewis will win a race just yet, but there's always hope!

I think Lewis Hamiton will take a race win this year probably at a circuit where McLaren are the stronger car and a track where he knows, maybe Silverstone although Ferrari are usually pretty good there so we'll see.

Kimi didn't have engine problems during the closing stages, but the car setup had been compromised to get the engine working to avoid the grid penalty. Kimi actually had been aggressively attacking and chipping away Lewis' advantage lap by lap, and that would be secondary to Lewis' car not adapting well to the hard tyres.

Yeah ok but its the same point really coz either way it stopped him from catching Lewis. He's got a new engine this race though so no excuses for ferrari.

Ferrari looks very strong. Of course this is only the first free practise, so we have to wait and see what they will do later on and the rest of the weekend, but I think, IF no problems will occur, they can go for their 1st 1-2 of the season..

Ferrari do indeed look very strong and although Raikonnen is a second faster than the McLarens and Massa 0.5 secs faster than them.

Of the rest Liuzzi is surprisingly high in 8th although i doubt it will last

Honda are doing better than this time last weekend.

Although we wont really know how quick they all are until tomorrows qualifying is suppose.
