The money is a bonus yes, but it's not just about that. It's about leaving a toxic atmosphere. Yamaha have clearly shown with the way they acted last year whose basket they have put their eggs in, and it isn't Lorenzo's. Name another time that a World Champions celebrations have been cancelled, at the behest of his own team? Coupled to the rumours that Rossi will be moving into a managerial role at Yamaha once he finishes riding, I think that Lorenzo realised that the odds were going to be increasingly stacked against him to do well and be happy. It is also known that a content, relaxed Lorenzo is a fast Lorenzo. He may not win another championship with Ducati, but he will certainly have a better working environment where is is appreciated and valued for what he is: a Multiple World Champion. That means more to him than trying to win more titles at Yamaha against a toxic team mate whom the team value more than you.

The toxic atmosphere is made by both parties I'm sure, to blame only one is wrong. And I'm not going to get drawn into a discussion about Rossi when the thread is about Jorge's move to Ducati, which is not the cleverest thing he ever did.

You're right, it takes two to tango. Though No one can deny that one side of the garage has certainly been more in the public eye for statements off track.

I hope that Lorenzo loving Jerez cancels out the Ducati hating it next yr.

My dad used to have a Jack Russell, proper nasty little nipper. My staffy used to look at it with distain, then if it attacked her she grabbed it's collar and threw it about six feet across the room. It was hilarious to watch.

Hey hey! You can bad mouth riders and Dorna - but when you start attacking poodles you're going too far. Poodles are really great dogs. Ask Billy Bob Thornton; he's got like seven of them.

Do you think Lorenzo has any anti-Stoner clauses in his contract?

Surely if Casey came back he would mop the floor with him in a Ducati?

No, Lorenzo has stated he wishes Stoner would come back.

Unlike his current teammate who needs a weak or nerfed teammate in the garage to prop up his ego, Lorenzo is fine with a strong teammate. He's just not fine with one who undermines the entire team for selfish reasons.

Casey and Jorge, 2017 team ducati.

That would be Michaelm's dream team. Not going to happen.
I wonder in 2017 with Lorenzo as the top Ducati rider, if there will still be a role for Stoner as Ducati tester? Hmmm. He doesn't like it when they make him test and then ignore his leads.

Come on J4, a lot of this is somewhat unlike you ...........

But on the highlighted parts, I suspect any rider who is asked to test a bike to identify flaws and is not then listened two would be pissed off somewhat ........ even moreso when the factory riders who over-ruled (allegedly) then complain of the very things you identified and for which you proposed a solution.

On the Stoner front, I reckon he will stay as he an JL get along quite well and I can see CS being useful in a few ways, not least of which will be assisting JL learning the various nuances of the Ducati as it will be a different beast to that which he is used and as we know, it is a beast that CS can get maximum from, just as JL will now need to adjust.

2017 is not the year for no CS at the Ducati factory, but 2018 however ........

I have no dog, but would get one for you.

Well when you get one train it to .... in the garden,no one wants .... on the driveway, it makes a horrible mess when you drive over it and people might tread it into your house.
