But they used to say that about Rossi at Honda for a couple of years, remember… “It is the ‘Honda’ bike”… so brings the doubt again, Where would Pedrosa be without a Honda?

Well his first 3 world titles would have come easier because Aprilias are superior in the smaller classes. This assuming he made it into racing at all. But he wasn't picked by honda, he was picked by Puig, who has said he will go to whichever team will provide dani with the best package, if its not honda they will move.

Yes indeed he said that… he also said it was Hayden´s fault remember!

Anyway, Puig is inconsistent: “We have always looked for the best for Dani, and the only thing that I can say is that Pedrosa will always be in the best available team. This is our intention and the philosophy with which we understand the races. If he is riding for Honda, better, but if that weren’t to be possible we will always look for the best technical and mechanical conditions to allow Dani to develop his full potential and we will look to be in the team in which he feels best treated”…

And: “We have a good organization, on a team level, and I believe that we are prepared to continue with the line of work that we have set out, and that the support of Honda also gives a lot of confidence for the future”…

Kind of contradictory, first they don’t need Honda but then have confidence on them in the future.

Still, if the ‘It’s the bike’ excused was used against Rossi, then can be used against anyone I guess…

Also… Pedrosa has been with Honda for over 6 years now!

That doesn't read as inconsistency to me. He says that he feels Honda is a good team and is excited about a future with them, but if the situation arises where a better package is available elswhere then he will move. Its simple enough.

Also, Rossi showed everybody that the "its the bike" excuse is worth nothing, so people should stop taking success from riders because of equipment.
