Bradley Smith, MotoGP rider, admits there was cheating in Moto2.

This link was posted by Duc999 in the Moto2 threads but I felt it deserved more notoriety in the general MotoGP board.

"There was cheating going on inside Moto2 this year." 2:17

"It wasn't just Marquez..." 2:51

So a Brit told us Marquez cheated. Ok Kropos. Start spinning buddy.

Smith obviously means some teams were simply working harder than others. Right?

Cheating?

Bradley Smith needs to check that Regaine doesn't have any ingredients that violate the FIM's doping code...

Just listened to this in the moto2 thread.

I reckon this could cause a .... storm for Bradders!

But kudos to him for having the ...... to speak out, even if the season is over!

So it seems we wern't going mad
<

The way Marquez bike was out accelerating everything was ....... mental for a one engine rule series. Good on ya Bradders for speaking up. Mind you it was maybe also down to the bike being lighter, as it doesn't need brakes if you just use everyone else to slow you down by riding into them.

Ive said it before, I really liked the kid, I saw a real sense of fun in him when he was racing, but as his first moto2 season went on he just became a dangerous wee ........ He appears to have no respect for anyone else, and obviously feels that the other riders are just in his way. I wish no harm on any rider, but I hope if he ..... anyone up, it.s himself and no somebody else.

I agree good on him for speaking up. But I wonder what your response would have been if a certain Aussie had said exactly the same thing?

Just asking the question? Agree with your Marquez comments. Will be interesting to see if he pulls the same passing manouvers in Motogp next year.

If he does someone will bop him.

Gotta say that to me it sounded a hell of a lot like an excuse as for why he did not produce the results that were expected so he pulled the old 'they are cheating' line. Sure he claims some teams bought parts but assuming that these teams had suppliers there is no reason why these parts were not available to all who had the necessary funding, and his team's failure to obtain the parts does not mean that others were cheating, just that their dollars opened opportunities to parts that others may not have been able to afford.

That all said (and I agree with Frizz, imagine if an Aussie said this ............... it would be whining of the highest magnitude) but he does not just label Marquez so why the hatred on him and seemingly him alone?

Marquez is frighteningly fast with or without a perceived engine advantage and is one that seems prepared to take risks that are now deemed dangerous and unsafe, when for the last few years many have called for exactly the fairing bashing that he brings or is it because a perceived golden spoon has helped his rise.

IMO, the guy will be involved in some super serious activity and has been treated lightly so far, and just with all whom seem to have a path that is opened for them, they push the boundaries until such time as they over step or are taken around the back and given a lesson by their contemporaries.

Back to the subject though and just as we ask (nay demand) proof of other's views should we not demand proof of Smith's beliefs?

IMO, if cheating occurred (and IMO again, cheating refers to breaches of rules, not breaches of a cheque book or credit limit), then he has now opened his mouth so let the provision of proof follow.

Yes harsh, and yes bitter but if we demand proof of one, we must demand proof of all.

Didn't win a race in 2012.....yep lots of people were cheating except him.

What will his excuse be next year.

Bradley Smith will enjoy as much success in MotoGP as James Toseland.

A lot of people have made the correct assessment of the situation. Clearly, the only reason everyone finished ahead of Bradley Smith is because all of them were cheating.

You always have to wonder how he would know what is happening in other teams? (I'm also looking at you KRJR)

Bingo. Trying to justify his ride, aint working.

Just because other teams spent more money on the bike doesnt mean they were cheating, yeh he was maybe on a .... bike, but they weren't cheating. He needs to prove to everyone he belongs in motogp this year

Your post was a bit confusing my friend. You start with the explanation that expensive bits is not tantamount to cheating, uhm, yeah, what is the insight in that? I think we all can distinguish between "cheating" and 'go-fast bits that cost' a grip.

Then demand "proof" of cheating? Uhm, I don't think you and others doubting it has happened understand the process of cheating, its done in secret. Which makes this very difficult to prove. ...., murder is hard to "prove". I noticed you still find the need to defend a certain Aussie who were dismissed as a "whiner" when he spoke out (as you know I think was also an unwarranted moniker); yet, that very same group who you share this kinship were also in general of the opinion that the powers that be have screwed a certain Aussie competitor by similar dubious underhanded dishonest shenanigans. So then, by your logic, by simply demanding proof and not getting any we can declare that moniker to be accurate and in this case enough to sweep it under the rug, as you have attempted to downplay Smith's assertion of cheating.[/background]

That is not what he said, now is it?

How does anyone really know what is happening in other teams besides speculation Kroppo?

How does anybody really know we landed on the moon? I demand proof.[/background]

A rider who is trying to justify his existence in the sport, does not validate your conspiracy theory. Just because Bradley says people are cheating, doesnt make it true. He can have all the suspicions he wants, but until he can back up accusations, he needs to STFU. Hell, i have suspicions that you and Keshav are homosexual lovers, but until i have proof, im going to keep it to myself.

Spot on Pov, if he was that worried about it, he should have gathered up some evidence and said "there, THIS ecu is being reprogrammed with magic data and is illegal' and taken it to dorna. Now he just looks like a crazy old bald man.
