2025 Silly Season

I drank a fair amount of Red Bull in my younger days. People would ask "How can you drink that, doesn't it taste like sht?”
"No, it tastes like caffeine. Delicious."

According to Pirro, one of the reasons that the GP24 is much better than the GP23 is that the GP24 was designed with the current tyres in mind, while the GP23 wasn't.

Someone needs to point this out to the Valeban posters on motorsport.com, particularly old Wosi, who have been contending that MM should have been able to win the title on a GP23 if Bezzecchi could win 3 races on a year old GP22.

I might have to re-evaluate Bezz now he has come out as an unabashed Stoner fan. Do I think Valentino is sufficiently calculating to rehabilitate Casey to aid his ongoing campaign against MM ?. Yes.

Aspar has confirmed Foggia will return to Moto3 to replace Alonso.
New MotoGP logo has leaked. Boring. I'm very tired of minimalist design, which is just an excuse by graphic designers to avoid doing any work at all.

I agree that it looks boring but I don't really care. I don't watch because of the logo.

I have not been thinking it but now that you mention it, this would be awesome.
It's hard to believe the GP25 will be another giant leap forward like the GP24 was but I'll be shocked if it won't be easily the best bike on the grid.
I could see Diggia win two or three races, finish Top 5 in the championship and challenge for 3rd.
1st or 2nd is a long shot though. Marc and Frantisek are the clear favorites next year.
Pedro and Jörg are gonna be wildcards where no one can predict exactly how it'll go for them.

Suppose we need to know what were the deficiencies of the GP24 so to gauge how much the GP25 might improve and ask the question as to whether the tyres will be different and hence the GP25 is designed for the new tyres while the GP24 isn't

Regarding tyres, I'm guessing Michelin is going to bring a new front tyre in 2025? A front that will not wash out due to the much improved grip of the rear?

No.

They wanted to, but haven't been able to test it because teams want to test their own stuff so it has been delayed to 2026. They wanted to test it again at the Barcelona test, but all teams refused.

The provisional entry list for 2025 shows Jörg using #89.
Not sure if that means anything.

If I understand correctly, there has never been a championship winning rider who has taken the number 1 plate to another mfg. I'm curious, how does Aprilia feel about him running the #1 as it was not earned on their bike? Is this even a thing?

That is what I was thinking this whole time about people talking about taking the No1 to Aprillia....
If I was in charge of Aprillia, I would feel rather sheepish about a rider putting the No 1 on my bike when said rider won the championship on a rival manufacturer's machinery.

Agreed. I would feel we (Aprilia) didn't earn the right to run #1 but Jorge did and he should run it if he chooses. It's a weird dynamic.

I must admit that I wouldn't feel sheepish about that. I'd prefer to see it on the bike.
