Damn right..love to see Spies slide the bike around 250 kids:)

Doubt it. Ben is in a title fight. But then again, the AMA doesn't race until Laguna. I still doubt it.

In this month's issue of Roadracing World, Spies makes plenty of demands for considering going to MotoGP (sounds like a page from Mladin). I'm not sure if its primo Dana attitude or posturing for a factory ride with decent pay...I guess we’ll have to wait and see. He makes a point of saying that MotoGP is most suited for the tiny itty bitty bodies of less than 120 pound men coming from 250s. One thing, he mentions Toseland as somebody who he respects and credits him for increasing his chances to be successful considering they have similar body make up and superbike backgrounds.

According to Autosport.com it'll be Suzuki test rider Nobu Aoki, who is also on standby for Assen. Don't think we've seen him regularly since the '04 ride for KR alongside McWilliams. This decision is no surprise, since then he's been doing the testing job at Suzuki since '05, and has earned a handful of wildcard rides since then.

I think you might have misread that... the Autotsport article I see says:

"Loris Capirossi is unlikely to race in the British Grand Prix next week following his crash during the Barcelona race last Sunday.

The Rizla Suzuki rider injured his hand in a crash with Alex de Angelis at the Catalan circuit when the duo tangled on lap 11.

Capirossi suffered a dislocated fracture of the fifth right metacarpus, which is used to brake and accelerate.

Suzuki team manager Paul Denning said after the post-race test in Spain that the Italian rider is likely to miss the Donington race and even the Dutch Grand Prix.

"Loris's break is quite a complicated one; it's a dislocated fracture of his fifth right metacarpus, which is used a lot in braking and throttle control," Dennis told the official MotoGP website.

"Loris as always wants to ride, but at the moment is looking difficult for him to ride at Donington and perhaps Assen.

"It will be assessed if the bone will heal correctly, or if an operation is possible."

Tester Nobuatsu Aoki replaced Capirossi during the two-day test in Barcelona.

Sorry, double post there.

Apologies Phorrest, I actually read this, but had previously gleaned the 'info' from an article in MCN...(the shame). I do think it's likely that Aoki will ride though.

The year i'm not going to Donington one of my favourite riders is almost certainly debuting in MotoGP.

Still I would love him to do it, he deserves every ride he can get.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Reigning American superbike champion Ben Spies will make his long-anticipated MotoGP debut in the British GP at Donington Park on June 22. Suzuki is expected to officially announce the deal later this week, but Spies will replace Capirossi, with MCN sources today confirming the 35-year-old would definitely miss the British GP.
In sentence 1 they say Spies will race at Donington, but in sentence 2 they say it's yet to be confirmed. Usual useless reportage.

I'll believe it when I see it - sorry Curve

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Spies had been scheduled to join Suzuki as a wild card rider for the Laguna Seca and Indianapolis races, but his MotoGP debut has now been brought forward to Donington Park.
i find it strange that he would also wild card at laguna seca when he will be riding ama there fighting for his 3rd championship.

CONFIRMED!!! I am so pumped. I don't expect him to do much but I really can't wait to see him out there with the GP boys.
