Cal: down the duke drain.

only good thing is that we can be somewhat confident vinales won't end up on a honda any time soon.

i have no earthly idea what max ever said to the honda guys, but walking out of a championship must be worse.

Is that why he got signed up so quickly to a championship team? If Repsol want him they'll make it work. Biaggis problem was he didnt get along with VR and therefore was hated by all. Rossi talked .... about Ducati for two years and they still wanted to sign him. If Mavdick Vingina sells tshirts, he'll find a championship worthy bike.

he's not riding a honda this year (which isn't a bad thing....for once in like 40 years).

i don't seriously think that the big guys at honda would definately rule out supplying a rc213v to him because he ...... up with his manager in moto3 some years ago, but surely it can be a factor that contributes to him going down the yamaha/duc way

Someone who is proficient at photoshop should take the "boulevard of broken dreams" painting and put all the duc riders heads on the celebrities bodies

I don't think Ezy wants anymore Spanish riders in the top teams.

It's not his fault that Ducati, Crutchlow and all the US riders are so .....

Max certainly didn't need much help in being hated by all... Unless you want to blame Rossi even for Biaggi's character, which was a legend in the paddock? Feel free. You have already blamed VR for everything, including global warming... :D

And maybe, had Biaggi kicked Rossi's ... on track every Sunday, rather than the other way round, things might have been different, uh?

But how .... would those years of MotoGP been without Biaggi? He played the perfect part as villian and you couldn't help but love to hate him. It was always great to watch him ride, and even better to watch him get beat. There isn't really anyone like him in the paddock now (that is, a big talker who can occasionally back it up).

Four 250 titles  (29 wins), Blew Doohan away in his 500 ride, 13 Moto 500/gp wins, 2 WSB titles (21 wins)  yeah very occasional.

Never understood the Max hatred...actually I did. Usual narative propagated by journos with agendas. Laugh at some of his stranger moments (Legionaires costumes?), sure. But so much of the agenda went further than that. As I've written before, the mockery and black flagging at PI when he was challenging Doohan went just that little bit over the line. To see it repeated and inflamed by a non-mouth breathing, non-parochial press just soured it. And the mouthbreathing just got heavier once Vale made the 500 class.

Max had a magical career everywhere except where it mattered most. Considering the fanfare that came with his arrival to MtoGP, 13 wins and no titles is mediocre at best. When he won the first GP of his rookie season, everyone thought here we go, the next dominator has arrived, it just never happened.

I think Alvaro and Bradl would fit "mediocre" more than a thirteen time winner.

I have said it before, and i will say it again. I dont care where the riders come from, as long as they deserve to be there. I would hate to see  the top riders in the world locked out of GP because to many of their countryman have seats. Would i prefer riders from all over the world, of course, but the world needs to get their ... in gear and start producing kids who can beat the spainairds. There are 2-3 kids in DSB right now who should be in Moto 2 next year. Its not Dorna's fault that no one in the US motorcyle scene will  back a kid to race overseas. They are more interested in keeping them locked into this ....... joke of a series for their own gains.

How did that work for Stoner?  Almost as hated as Biaggi.

Mediocre was probably the wrong word, he  certainly faired better than the huge majority that ever ran in the series. I guess the word would be disappointing. Like i said, with the fanfare  of his arrival on the scene, and winning his first race, what happened after that was not the path of greatness. He averaged 1.6 wins a year, with a high of 3. One thing you can say, he was consistently disappointing.

Glad you agree that a moto2 wc ,pole and podium in the 2nd yr make a rider at least mediocre. had me worried there for a sec you'd rate him crutch-slow

Biaggi will never get the respect he deserves because we all know he's mentally WEAK.

Bradl and Bautista would break Biaggi's psyche if they were ever to race together with fair machinery.
