Major fault with new BSB rules, Shakey leads the season proper then gets taken out by a ....... potato muncher in the first corner. Swan Yamaha, Jesus h Christ, if Shakey or Hopper were on those bikes the title would have been finished a long time ago, if the rules weren't designed for folk that can win 2 or 3 races a year then actual track racers, not ....... farm to farm racers would be winning. Go Hopper , go Shakey, .... spammers on fast bikes.

Just watched both races WTF was laverty doing!!! I cannot belive Shakey shook his hand after!! Freeking good job he finished behind Shakey or I feel serious words would have taken place. And how come there was no penalty? Laverty went in far too hot to a gap that was dissapearing and lost it before contact. Summat wrong there.
Anyway, GO!!!! HOPPER!!!

Interesting results. Didn't expect Hopper to double, and I didn't expect Shakey to have bad luck. What the deal with Kiyo? Looks like he's just giving up on his career.
The results make an interesting story line for the rest of the Showdown. Hopper's bike isn't the fastest, imo, which will cause some difficulties at Silverstone. Hopper doesn't have much experience at Brands either. The weather will probably not cooperate either.
I've never been a big fan of the showdown, and I'm still not a fan. I know why they did it, and I'm happy to see Hopper doing well, but the Showdown confuses the championship race. It also gives teams an incentive to tune the bikes for reliability and then send the riders out to collect points. The Showdown was designed to guarantee value to TV companies and venue owners who host rounds late in the season, but it makes the rest of the season relatively worthless.

The showdown rules are ..... The dominant rider in the championship is now 25points behind because of one ...... day. For all these guys put in over a season it seems stupid that 3 days of racing should decide the result.
I think i detect some resentment towards a certain Mr Hill. I will be totting up the points the old fasioned way at the end of the season, it may well be very interesting. Last year it didn't actually affect the result significantly at all, i hope this year is the same, but i suspect it may not be
+1, he didn't sound like he felt he could win, and didn't look like it on the track.

I can kind of understand why they introduced the showdown, but in reality its effects are going to be either negligible if there is one dominant rider (because they're likely to keep winning) or negative if the title is taken away from someone who's worked hard all season and has a fall/injury. Either way, the effects aren't positive.

Nice write up Motortom I enjoyed that.
Got to agree about Kiyo he just dont look comfortable on the bike lately.
Its the first year I've had the oppertunity to watch BSB and was amazed to find out how the championship worked!
Like I say first year so will reserve judgment till the seasons close.
However it will be very interesting to see Toms findings at the seasons close to see if the showdown actually robs someone of the championship had it finished like all the other racing series do, just on the points you win.

Well boys, i just got to see both races yesterday, so sorry for late reply.
Race one: .... ME that was good. 4-5 riders that could win it. Of course im happy Hopper won. But the racing was freaking great.

I dont know what this "shoot out" thing is about. Can somebody explain?
Also, Wtf is up with such a short thread? How can any Brit be addicted to GP but not BSB? I get that u boys cant easily access our fine AMA series (if u care about motoracing, do urself a favor and watch the season finalies at New Jersey in Sbk & DSB). But this thread is much too short seeing that we are carrying worthless threads by StupidShitya & Penguin going on pages now. Wtf. Dont they televise BSB on free channels in Europe?? Arent there plenty of Brits & Euros to cheer for in the BSB?

The showdown from what I've worked out is the top six riders in the points at the begining of the last 3 meetings all go automatically to 500 points plus podium credits accrued through the season. 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, and 1 for 3rd from each race.
My first year watching because it is on a free channel but at stupid times to fit into my lifestyle, but now I got cable and sundays my day so get to watch it all
