As a prominent figure, the public has a right to know what the story is. At the same time, he's entirely in the right to withhold that information. Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Essentially what I'm saying is that if a member of the media found out what's really happening and reported it, it would be in the right as Stoner is a prominent figure and thus his medical history is newsworthy. However, any person, prominent figure or not, can certainly try to keep their lives as private as possible.
Austin, I do think that we agree in that there is no real obligation or requirement on Stoner to release the information as it is nobody's business but his own, just as it would be for each and every employee.
I also agree that whilst there is no obligation on him to release the information, to some journalists it woudl be deemed as newsworthy and therefore if they (the journalist) came upon the information I have no doubt thatt hey would print it and in many cases they may even give CS the opportunity to release first.
I may not agree with it, but in today's world the public seem to have a salacious appetite for every tidbit possible regarding their sports stars and other celebrities. But man, I hope it neve descends to the levels of recent Pakistani cricketer Shaoib Akhtar who was ruled out of a tour with an injury released by his controlling board as Genital Warts - that is to much information.

Not really Rog, as his true fans will accept that he has an illness and need no further explanation but that is not to say that they would not be interested.
