Well................... Im twice the size of Casey, but thats not difficult is it!! He's a lucky boy, his missus is top notch! Lets just hope he's back for Portugal and he hasn't booked another camping trip!!

if you are a "country bumpkin" like CS seems to be, then i would have thought that going fishing is probably one of the best ways to relax/de-stress ever!

that and i do believe there is a 4 week break on so why shouldn't he go fishing? its not like anyone else is racing motogp either....

Maybe he should try getting back into race shape instead of fishing and playing with his iphone. Doesn't sound to me that he has learned from his mistakes, so I think he is bound to repeat it. He'll be puking in his helmet again by P.I.

A spot of fishing does all men good from time to time.

Stoner has to do what ever it takes to get back in shape and with good health.

If he comes back and gets ill again i fear he is finished in world class motorsport. This could be his only chance ,so if rest and stress relief activity's like fishing and gaming are what he needs than good, but if fitness was the problem then maybe he should look to more fitness type activity's.

mistakes?

and to the entire post.. maybe its trying to continue to race when he should have rested that brought on this whole illness in the first place. have you considered that he IS getting into race shape and this is one of the ways that is helping?

Surely His Wife should help in keeping him fit.?
Hmmm....unless she's the one thats wore him out.?.

well this could be all or part of the problem. Maybe she wants a baby ,after all she was hanging out with the beautiful Ingrid last year when she had Riccardo., we all no how these birds get broody. Maybe the poor feller is having to beat her back doors in all night regardless of how knackered he is. We all know how hard it is going to work in the morning when we have been on the 'job' all night.

Hmmm, for Casey racing motorcycles has always been his work since he was a child. Duty. He had to succeed for his family, because they gave up everything to take him to Europe. He had to.
I think, after finally he succeeded, he needed to relax a bit. But no... Now you are a star. You have to do PR, and you have to keep beating Rossi and all others. More duty.
Now the little soldier has gone fishing.
I sse nothing wrong with that.
And it's holiday time anyway, until Estoril.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Gaz @ Sep 8 2009, 02:54 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Gotta say I totally disagree that anybody needs to release any information about the illness as the public does not have a right to know given that the illness is a personaland private issue between Stoner, his doctors and his employers. To use your context, would you release to all other people on that high profile project a workmates illness details and if you did, what are the ramifications for yourself (as they do exist in Oz at least)?

Gaz
Although I personally believe that it is up to Stoner whether or not he wants his medical information released, as a prominent figure he doesn't have the same right to privacy that you or I or a coworker has. As a prominent figure, the public has a right to know what the story is. At the same time, he's entirely in the right to withhold that information. Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Essentially what I'm saying is that if a member of the media found out what's really happening and reported it, it would be in the right as Stoner is a prominent figure and thus his medical history is newsworthy. However, any person, prominent figure or not, can certainly try to keep their lives as private as possible.

Yeah, I mean the best remedy for chronic fatigue syndrome is strenuous exercise.

Can't go along with ya, Austin. I'm sure we'd agree that the team, sponsors, etc. DO need to know what's going on. Beyond that, forget it.
Turn on the 'news' and you'll hear lots of people going on about "I have a right to know!" about any little thing in their lives. IMO, this 'right' is overstated and applies only when Joe Sixpack has invested something into the issue. He's correct to demand full disclosure regarding his 401, or how the government is spending his money. On a corporate level, you could argue that Apple stockholders need to know the details of Steve Jobs' health. Casey's situation is different: I don't think a motorcycle jockey's potential performance qualifies, however talented and indispensable to the team he may be.

Newsworthy maybe, but not at the cost of his privacy, IMO.

They've got the right to demand whatever they want, but they certainly have no right to actually receive it.

That is unless his chronic fatigue is caused by stress, which you all now I believe to be true. In that case exercise would be the best thing for him. And if the other case and he is still not fit enough to work out then, well, history is bond to repeat itself in this situation. He will be finished by P.I.

Wasn't it his own dad that said he wasn't fit enough to work out because he felt sore and fatigued? Well no .... thats what happens when a person is out of shape. My point is he is not ready to come back and deal with the stress of motogp yet. If ever.

your right, we have no right what so ever to demand information about stoners personal health problems. But you would think he owes it to his fans ! That's if he gives a .... about his fans.

You know he makes her do all the work. He's a "dead fish" in the sack I just know it.

Not saying I agree with it but that's the reality. It's not that Stoner has no choice but to reveal all, like I said before, he can do his best to keep his privacy. However, every writer/editor/member of the media would immediately report the story should they ever discover it because of his status as a prominent figure.

He himself has no obligation to reveal anything to anyone. However the media would not be in the wrong by reporting it even if Stoner would like to keep it private.
