If I was in charge of selecting riders for the Factory Ducati team I recon I would of made the same decisions in recent years, ie I would of picked Bastainini over Martin 2 years ago and would also have picked MM over Martin this year. Selecting Bastainini 2 years ago would of been based on performance in relation to equipment/team and this years decision is also based on performance in relation to equipment/team but adds finance to the equation. Martin deserves a factory ride but 3 riders don't fit into a 2 rider team

I don't see Ducati being concerned with ethics as they pertain to this battle. Bagnaia is their number 1 rider and 2-time and current champ. Ducati will do what they can to see he becomes a 3-time champ. With Marc on the factory team for '25, Ducati exponentially increase their chances of securing 4 championships in a row, assuming they win this year. I realize you know all of this but I'm bored and wanted to type.
Would Liberty Media now have an opinion on this? They are wanting to improve the show and might not take it well if there’s any finagling.

Racing is a business first and foremost at the MotoGP level now, no doubt the main Ducati sponsors will expect their signage to be on the world champions bike next year, if not I'm guessing that there could be "ramifications" !
Racing is a business, but I think that part of that is the business's reputation. While I can see the motivation of the sponsors, I would think that there is another another way of looking at it. I would respect Ducati more if they give Martin a fair crack of the whip, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Though, as I said upthread, it is normal for a departing rider and team to not be given updates. So, maybe updates will stop but all other support will continue?

EDIT: I note @Faz's comment on Liberty Media as well. I wonder what their view is.

Martin isn't getting updates, end of story imo.
He has chosen to go to another manufacturer and aint taking the #1 plate with him. Likewise his team. That's that.
3 in a row for Pecco. Championship is as good as decided. ;)

Give MM the start of season GP24, or even the end of season GP23 from the start of this season, and both Pecco and Martin might be in some trouble in regard to their championship aspirations.

Well I suspect had MM qualified better in a number of races the championship points table would be far closer among the top 3.

If Oliveira is Pramac bound, then my guestimate would be that Raul is retained alongside Joe Roberts, as a rookie.

Pramac wanted experience. Well, in Oliveira they have plenty. Samsung with Miller. That, plus the impact from Rins, would be quite the one-track test team for Yamaha.

With these movements, it would be Aprilia who could end up as the biggest loser.

Oliveira / Miller will give them Aprilia / KTM / Ducati rider experience so there's logic in that pairing. Doesn't give Yamaha a rookie as Quartararo asked for

Seems a reasonable assessment of Morbidelli and suggests he will be on a last year bike at VR46 next year

We shall see if he continues the performance improvement we have seen in the last few races and to do that he will need to learn how to save tyres on a Ducati, perhaps that is coming?

From the same article mentioned above, Quartararo apparently has a high opinion of Oliveira.

There is the second seat that might still go to a rookie.
GPone reports that the second seat might go to Tony Arbolino

Arbolino, Quartararo's mate.

Not sure about how wise it is to listen to Q. Didn't Dovi more or less predict how the Yamaha was going to perform if they listened to Q?
