I'm getting the impression that we will see M Marquez stay with Gresini for 2025 but on a 2025 Ducati. We can't read too much into what the press are putting out so take this Crash article with a pinch of salt which basically says that the second seat at Ducati's factory team is between Quartararo, Martin and Bastainini, no mention of M Marquez as a contender for the seat
I think JPS said it some time ago, and I'm more inclined to agree with him now. Short of him winning thr title, he won't be at Lenovo Ducati next yr. Maybe Pramac? That Crash article is referencing BT sport commentators so I take the lack of Marc Marquez comments with a pinch of salt, especially as Ducati themselves have said he is a candidate.

I'm still not buying the Gresini with a factory bike idea. I get that it means he would stay in a family atmosphere team with his brother, but a customer team, even with a factory bike, is not the same as a full factory seat. I also think, that given the option, if Ducati think Marc can win the title that they would rather he (or anyone for that matter) do it on a full factory bike.

Quartararo is an unknown on a V4, which is something that may count against him. Aprilia would likely offer more money too.

True but the last time Fabs was an unknown (for all intents and purposes) he did great things at Petronas. Just my layman's opinion but I think his lack of V4 experience won't hinder him much when looking for a new ride. Call me crazy but looking at it just from the standpoint of results, I think Aprilia would be better off with Fabs rather than Marc, if only because Fabs is younger. He's a wily "old" veteran who hasn't yet seen his 25th birthday. He's got a lot of good years left.

I get the feeling that Ducati and Aprila aren't paying much to anyone who wants one of their rides while KTM is pretty much fill with perhaps only M Marquez having a chance of getting one.

This is also throwing more weight towards the second factory Ducati seat will only go to an existing Ducati rider

I wonder what Acosta's contract says for 2025? perhaps "can leave KTM if KTM doesn't provide a factory ride" ?

Yes, this is the most plausible reason, sporting wise, this decision has no sense but at the same time none of the other top manufacturers really 'need' Fabio. KTM is probably still wary of signing riders with i4 experience after Zarco's fiasco, Ducati probably offered a satellite ride and Aprilia won't break the bank for anyone. He could've done a Márquez and miss out on a big contract for a chance of staying competitive, but I suppose he's still too young and still places a big value in money.

I think it's a shame really and a guy like him should be on better machinery. Let's see if Yamaha can improve that bike soon.

I always wanted Fabio to stay at Yamaha and get back to the top together. I'm a little surprised he's actually staying there though.
I wonder what, aside from money, Yamaha offered him. I hope they actually make use of the concessions. Get out and test and let Calvin run his six wildcards.

Now I feel foolish for feeling bad for Fabio and his situation. I don't want to hear him complain anymore. Its on you now Fabio.

Don’t know that I’ve heard Fabio say anything worse than what Marquez said about the Honda.

Fabio has been talking about how Yamaha needs to step it up for about a year now. I thought he was talking about the bike not their checkbook. It was my mistake. If he is happy, I am happy. I just won't feel bad anymore when a struggles. However I will be excited when he does well. He is like the band on the titanic now no longer looking for a lifeboat.

The rest of the rider market really hinges on what happens with MM. I do think he's going to go back to Honda when the 850cc's arrive if the aero shitshow is tamed down.

I guess with Fabio signing with Yamaha again, Maverick gets a reprieve. Or maybe that's Aleix. Who really knows.

It's Crash dot net. Articles are probably written by AI anyway..
Yes shows what credibility the remainder of the article has, and their articles in general have for that matter. I don’t think they are particularly anti-MM in general though.
