Casey on the money again after the latest hissy fit. ;)

Not much point rehashing all this particularly since we currently have great contributors to the forum who are also Rossi fans, but 9 years of stewing on this seems to have led to accusations which are ever more outlandish. I disagree with Casey, imo he lost the title because after a very creditable challenge he wasn't fast enough in the concluding races of the season, rather than by any agency of MM's.

I agree with his statement that Rossi started it not Marquez, and that it was a mistake to think Marquez would be affected by his mind games.

Marquez knew he was faster and was far too resilient to be negatively affected by the stupid games.

Yes Rossi wasn't fast enough and he can blame himself for the back of the grid penalty.

Sure there are Rossi fans on here but also there are Marquez fans. If Rossi wants to keep perpetrating his falsehoods I am happy to point out they are false. It wouldn't have been mentioned on here if VR hadn't started again.

As Michael M said, it's been 9 years and people need to let it go. No new evidence is going to come to light and peoples opinion on the matter won't change.

Rossi is honestly doing himself more harm than good by perpetually bringing it up.

Quartararo talked about what kept him at Yamaha despite an offer from Aprilia.

This article presents Yamaha having a V4 in 2025 as something that is happening.
"That is now extending as far as Yamaha ditching its inline-four engine philosophy for a V4 for 2025."

That makes it official, if Lewis Duncan says so, he would know.

On the 13th of September he was talking about the V4 being at a very advanced stage. Why Yamaha’s rumoured radical MotoGP shift is bigger than just an engine Now it's sounding much firmer.

I wonder if we'll see (and hear) it at the end of season test this year.
Twitty mate, you have to stop basing your information around what Journalist write on Crash Net, they are just story writers, some may have even ridden a bike, but that would be the extent of there technical knowledge.

In the article that you have quoted, Lewis says, In very basic terms,
an inline-four is not as powerful as a V4. But the narrower shape of the inline-four allows more flexibility in chassis design, and therefore those types of bikes tend to have nimbler handling. This was a characteristic of the Suzuki too when it raced in MotoGP with the inline-four.”

Well with pneumatic valve engines the inline 4 and the V4, the inline engine has more friction, but can produce the same torque as the V4.
But the narrower shape of the inline-four allows more flexibility in chassis design, and therefore those types of bikes tend to have nimbler handling”

I think he got a bit confused here, it’s the V4 that is narrower and has the nimbler handling, the Inline 4 that has the wider crank that has the stability in corners.

Then we get to this bit ‘in theory’.
The move also coincides with MotoGP’s shift to 850cc engines from 2027. In theory, if Yamaha can get a V4 onto the bike for 2025 and develop it in a good way, it should give it a boost when the 2027 regulations come into effect.”

As I have said before, that would be two complete engines they would have to design, a 1000cc and an 850cc built and perfected in two years. Then they can’t just swap the engines into the bike, the whole chassis would have to be designed and built to suit each engine size, to produce good handling.

There is no doubt the they will go to a V4 850cc engine in 2027, we might see some action in 2026 as they start testing the new 850 bike under wraps some where, but until then they will be getting the most out of the inline 4, in braking, handling and traction.

I'm fully aware of that. That's why I presented the information as that it was said in the article. Not that I definitely believed it was true. It could be true, but an article in the press doesn't establish it as fact.
