VR46 had interest in both Aldeguer and Acosta by their own admission, so it’s not an iron clad rule; Uccio and Nieto basically call the shots on this.

As per Aldeguer’s manager, he would be offered either a 2024 or 2025 bike next year (Looking like it’s the former), but in 2026 he’s guaranteed a 2026 bike.

Would be very interesting how Ducati will manage that.
I would think that Ducati can at any time increase the number of current year bikes back to four. It does seem odd to me that Aldeguer has such a long-term guarantee. Clearly people in the know are taking his talent and worth very seriously.

I think one of the reasons they cut down the current year bikes to 3 is possibly funds being diverted to the development of the 2027 concept.

A lot of the technical advantage they currently have will be negated with the new formula and they need to have a decent head start to find ways around it.

I suspect that Ducati's current advantage has built because their organisation in total, engineering and more, is strong. Hence, my prediction is that Ducati will still be strong in 2027. Of course, predictions can easily be wrong.

I think as long as the fundamental building blocks are laid for a good aerodynamic design, Ducati will be difficult to beat even in 2027 and beyond. If you couldn't quite nail the aero we currently have, I can't see that changing for 2027.

Chantra to LCR?
If it does happen it will be a departure from having a Japanese rider and the first time a Thai rider has been in the premier class. We shall find out in due course. Oh if it does happen I'll predict that Chantra won't podium in 25 or 26 :)

I would think it would be wildly popular in Thailand, and benefit Honda greatly in terms of scooter sales.

Recently I've seen some statistics about how 125s and similar sized bikes outsell even 250s to a considerable degree. Worldwide that is. A bump in scooter sales in Thailand would probably be well worth it. Much more valuable than a similar percentage bump in 1000c class bike sales.

And, there's Aji coming through the ranks too.

It might be interesting to think about when the next Honda podium by any rider will be.

Japan is a relatively small market. Thailand MUCH bigger, and Chantra is popular in Malaysia and Indonesia as well, markets not so well disposed to the Japanese.

Vietti to SpeedUp/ Boscoscuro, Ogura to Trackhouse ?

This is another article by Günther Wiesinger. I trust Iranian state news more than this guy.

Well, a broken Iranian clock is right twice a day as well.

I think both news articles are plausible, I’d rather make up my mind once we give them the chance to play out.

This is something we cannot see and it must be very important. What kind of attitude do these young guns have? The show I was watching about last year's Red Bull Rookies Cup was very enlightening. Current Moto3 Leopard Honda rider Angel Piqueras seemed to have a great attitude and went about his business while his main rival, Maximo Quiles came off as an entitled, cocky little brat. From what I saw of his parents it's easy to see why. I predict Piqueras will have a pretty good career.

Speedweek (whose editor in chief Wiesinger is) used to be one of my major sources of information on MotoGP but last year they published silly season news that were entirely made up almost every day. They also don't present them as rumors but as facts.
Last year they said DiGiannantonio would join Gresini in Moto2 at some point (I even posted that article on here) and confirmed Pol Espargaro would be Acosta's teammate at Tech3 three days before they eventually announced their lineup with Fernandez and Pedro.

I haven't read anything on that site since.

It is, that’s why Romano Fenati is probably pumping gas now instead of winning world titles.

One better be a generational talent if they want to be an entitled prick.

Thing about Fenati is he displayed his (lack of) character for the world to see. He's good fodder for the "what might have been" discussion.

The little prick is a Marc Marquez protege. I believe Marc was extolling the kid's riding talent and he said; "that's why we signed him" so I don't know exactly what they signed him to but seems like Marc has his post-race career of poaching young talent up and running maybe as a manager? Piqueras is great mates with Acosta so he has a great mentor as well.

He set up his own management company after he fired Alzamora, headed by his former Red Bull liaison. First signees are the Marquez brothers, but as you’ve pointed out, seems like they already have a talent pipeline.

Aleix got pole and finished 6th, likely due to his tyre choice. It's not the bike Mav, it's you. I guarantee you he will exhibit the same form at KTM, just like he exhibited at Suzuki, Yamaha and Aprilia.

Talking of which, someone better check their rev limiters more closely for the rest of the season.
