This thread has been very active today. I did look back over the last three hours, and hope I didn't miss it already being posted. But:

Ai Ogura is not yet saying which bike he will ride in MotoGP next year, but he says that he has two options. Article says these options are likely LCR, and Trackhouse.

I would love to know what the offers are if/when he gets them. I don't think Trackhouse would break the bank for him as they can get Joe Roberts relatively cheaply I'd assume. How much does LCR want Ai? Can Taka find yet another lifeline in MotoGP?

Yeah, Aldeguer isn't setting the world on fire from what I hear either, is he?
Actually, he is doing quite ok.

He started really badly in Qatar, and have since then been very good. If he didn't have failed to finish the Catalan and Italian GP, he'd be close to Sergio Garcia.

But I get your point. He isn't replicating Acosta 2023.

The Pirelli's took a race to get to gel with, he has made unforced errors, yet his speed is there.

Will be interesting to see how the championship pans out. Garcia, Ogura, Roberts and Aldeguer have all good shots at the title.

The ways things are panning out at the Honda camp I'd say Ogura would be better off to take a Trackhouse offer unless Honda breaks the bank to get him.

Not really 'news', but VR46 is now officially supported by the Ducati factory and will have one GP25 and one GP24.

It says that it's likely Diggia that will get the GP25. Is my memory faulty yet again, or was it Diggia that was at risk of not having a MotoGP ride last year, and got the VR46 ride after (and possibly because of) some good performances.

If so, this is looking good for him after that close shave. Or was that someone else?

Yes, that was him.

Looks like Morbidelli will get the second seat.
I hope the 25 bike goes to Diggia, who deserves it far more than Morbidelli at this point.

I don't think Honda are fussed, but it's Idemitsu (the title sponsor) who are. I believe it is a requirement to have a Japanese rider, or a protoge of the Asia talent cup on that bike.

I agree, and given Diggia already has a contract signed, and it is directly with Ducati, I can't see him not getting the GP25.

According to this Crash article there's 7 bikes / 6 riders yet to be contracted. Is that technically correct?
I make it 6. Diggia has a signed contract direct with Ducati.

Assuming the accuracy of who goes to VR46 that means that Aldeguer has to go to Gresini. When VR46 got official Ducati satellite status I thought that meant that Aldeguer would go to VR46

Wouldn't the rookie on the satellite team have been the logical choice? VR46 being the test mule team, Gresini the independent rookie friendly one?
Perhaps so. Also they might be throwing VR46 a bone by allowing them to make their own choice after they were reputedly quite peeved about MM being signed by the factory team.

In general though I thought one of the attractions of VR46 for Ducati was the train of rookie talent from Valentino’s academy. I guess that means Italian rookies though, which Aldeguer isn’t.

VR46 had interest in both Aldeguer and Acosta by their own admission, so it’s not an iron clad rule; Uccio and Nieto basically call the shots on this.

As per Aldeguer’s manager, he would be offered either a 2024 or 2025 bike next year (Looking like it’s the former), but in 2026 he’s guaranteed a 2026 bike.

Would be very interesting how Ducati will manage that.
