Pecco class act to stay on the podium and smile with Martin’s celebration.

Neither rider had an easy time this year. It’s a relief for me after watching Martin bobble at the first corner yesterday.

We’ll see how things develop next year. Everybody will be motivated!

Also, congratulations to Ducati for proper sporting behavior to let Martin and Bagnaia duke it out on their own terms. I was angry at the factory team for their reneging on Martin for the factory seat and suspicious of their comportment to end the season nefariously. I am happy to have been wrong and apologies to that factory team!
After the Sachsenring I was sure Bagnaia would win this championship. I was convinced Jörg didn't have the nerves and that Ducati would find a way to screw him over by not giving him upgrades or even a few magical engine failures.
I was wrong. They let this play out. Gigi is a great sportsman.

Hoo Boy! Glad it's over. Really happy for Martin. Can't wait to see what he does on the Aprilia. Really enjoyed the post race cameraderie between Pramac and the factory guys. I try not to indulge over-much in schadenfreude whilst watching Pecco failing to hide his sulking, but pfft. So different from Marc when he's been on the podium next to the winner. In a mostly boring race, I was annoyed that they never showed A. Marquez's pass on Espargaro. In early days, not so impressed with A. Marquez but he's really grown in the role. Will miss Espargaro, an all around hard competitor, good guy and non-whiner.

There is no such thing as a second hand Ducati. It's the second best Ducati, also known as the second best bike on the grid.

Going from the far worst to the second best is a no brainer.

Picking up €20 this season, and €0 for the next two - four seasons vs. €5 + €10x4 is also a no brainer.

Finally, getting a couple of podiums vs getting a couple of world championships also a no brainer.

Marc has divorced his previously stunning wife after three kids, left her the pick up and house, and pitched up with the young dutches on the shores of lake Como and about to have his fourth.
Who .... in your Weetbix?

Never thought Jorge lacked "nerve". Just thought of him as a non-tactician with a kind of enthusiam that he was incapable of reigning in. Too much balls and not enough brains, which is why I disdained him in his rookie year. This season - I was surprised at how quickly I came to like him as a rider.

A shame BTW to see Pramac next year with no Ducati. Sucks.

Congrats to Jorge for getting it done! Commiserations to Pecco who did his best to show class in defeat and big up to Ducati for letting it all play out.
If silly season started now who would be winners and losers?

Was that Crafar saying that out of 23 podiums by the GP23 this year, 20 of them were by MM93?
Could be if you count sprints. Alex and Bezzecchi got one podium each and iirc Alex also got one in a sprint at some point.

The fact that DiGiannantonio didn't get a podium really goes to show how dominant the GP24 was.

Bastianini and Marc were in different groups in today's sprint
AM I presume who wasn’t. Didn’t see anything myself. Perhaps Bastianini has a promise of a possible return when MM retires or goes elsewhere.

I didn’t expect him to help Martin, who basically demanded Bastianini’s seat for 2025 before MM was much in the picture.

It is silly to burn your bridges in such a small industry.

I didn't see any posts on it but where did Marc come from today? He really wasn't doing that much this weekend or at least it didn't feel like it. I mean yea, he started on the front row but it just didn't seem like he'd be able to stay at the front. I realize the pace of the race was not scorching but I really didn't expect him to podium.

Looking forward to testing.

Simon did during the weekend that his race pace was pretty good but his one lap pace that is the easiest to judge was what let him down. He just got behind Pecco, got into a rhythm.

Ah yes. I do remember Simon mentioning that. Thanks for reminding me. I wish Marc's charge at the end would have materialized, though I do think Pecco would have had it covered. I definitely think Pecco had some in reserve should he have needed it.
