Shaping up to be a great season. Yamaha looks posed for a solid come-back. Going to be a long season for Marquez. Longer still for Rossi.

MM should play it like Mick Doohan did in 1993, he can win next year and start another dominant run from there, even tough .......s like him and Mick need time to recover from severe and complicated injuries such as those that both sustained.

He can. But it doesnt mean he will.

I agree with this. I've thought this would be the pertinent way to go about the season. If he just focuses on getting himself back into riding shape for now, he could easily reel off 5 straight starting next season. He doesn't need to be putting himself at risk right now when I think it's obvious he isn't going to win the title this season. I just think he needs to work on getting himself back into top shape and not chase after something right now, the talent's all still there, the right arm just isn't yet.

Honestly, was about to turn it off. Thought the race was a foregone conclusion and the positions had been worked out and then Fabio started fading, the race was back on again. Looks like it was arm pump that caused Fabio's fade, that's not good. Hopefully he deals with it ASAP.
Great race from Jack, he had a strong pace for the whole race and ended up winning comfortably. Franco and Pecco were great. Mir is just doing what he did last year at this stage by flying under the radar but still brining in a decent amount of points.

I agree with you on this. He and Honda should take the time to fix the chassis issues as he recovers his strength.

On another note, Pol's getting frustrated. Looks like his bike is different from Marc and he cant talk about it. >> https://www.speedweek.com/motogp/ne...da-E28093-bitterer-Ton-bei-Pol-Espargaro.html

MM seems to be going at his own pace. He's definitely not trying to prove anything ATM. He's doing well.

Pol, IMO, is experiencing what it is like to be teammates with a great rider as MM is while being an unproven quantity within the team. All focus will be on MM since while he was there, they were winning and when gone, they were nowhere. So, yes, Pol will feel like an employee and it will likely remain the case unless he does something spectacular, which I doubt that he will. He is already handicapped by the lack of attention that would help him to quickly figure out where the performance issues are so that he can improve his performance. I think also, that with so many years of Pedrosa in the team, Pedrosa didn't need the sort of focus and attention that Pol currently needs as a new rider within the team.

Well Pol, this is just how it is and I can't say that I'm surprised, nor judgemental about this very human issue within teamwork where the hunger for results is strong. MM is handicapped and still beats you? This doesn't help at all, does it?

Yes. I had just about given up on him after his start to the year. Perhaps Mir will no longer expect him to give way to him.

I am happy to see Miller win. After his run of form towards the end of last year, I really didn't expect otherwise. I'm finding the current Ducati duo to be interesting to watch! :)

Tough break for FQ. He only recently had an operation for arm pump. He may be in Pedrosa's situation and need something further.

Franco put on a good show. OTOH, his stable mate continues to have miserable form. If that continues for another 5 races, he really aught to stop and hand the full factory bike over to Franco. Let the team take on another rider. The season is very long for him to repeatedly languish outside the points on a bike that is winning races and barring FQ's physical problem would have won all 4 races so far.

Impressive ride from Jack, couldn't have come at a better time. Was a nice surprise to witness after it looked like Fabio was going to do a Lorenzo special. Huge confidence boost for him.

Nice to see Marc bank some points and continue rebuilding his race form.

Another solid performance from Franky. If it wasn't for him it would be easy to be sold that the bike has no potential. He is clearly hungry for it.

Im happy for Miller and honestly, who doesnt?

But it would just have been another Podium for him if it would not have been for FQ's physical condition. And MM's physical condition. If everybody would be fit he might not even been on the Podium. Sort of nicky haydenish. Or how Mir got Champion for that matter... Will be a one hit wonder

On the flip side though was it Jack's pace and pressure that forced Fabio to ride in the manner he did that caused the arm pump? I would feel fairly confident that if Jack was 3 or so seconds back rather than 1 second with a gap Fabio couldn't increase then he would have ridden easier and likely not have felt the same drop off.

Indeed. Like pretty much all sports you can only beat the competitors who turn up to face you in their physical condition at the time. FQ wasn't pulling away from Miller, having to push so hard because of the pressure from Jack may well have contributed to arm pump as you say if that was the main problem, and how FQ's tires would have lasted over the remaining race laps and whether he might have made a riding error over those laps will forever remain unknowable. MM is also in his current physical condition because he made a mistake chasing FQ for that matter.

It surely would of feel better if you achieve a win without having any rider(s) in front of you crashing or having a mechanical... Or a physical condition in that case. That's my point

Miller is obviously not as good as MM, and very likely not as good as FQ, but has had much ill fortune himself including last year, and has had arm pump himself without anyone cutting him much in the way of slack.

He rode a good race and was the best rider on the day. That is my point. You can gainsay many race wins and numerous titles for that matter on the basis of rider ailments if you want to do so, but these are not the concern of any race winner, it is up to the opponents to line up on the grid in a state of sufficient health. As I said MM sustained his injury over riding in pursuit of FQ which Jack didn’t do, and there is no way of knowing whether FQ’s tires or skill/concentration would have held up for the remaining laps with only a 1 second lead regardless of any arm pump issue anyway.

Miller rode mightily to get that Ducati where all other Ducati riders couldn't and to pressure Fabio on a circuit that Ducati doesn't typically do well and after a run of bad form. FQ really wanted that hat trick of wins and Miller was hot on his tail. Many race winners finished behind Miller yesterday. What more can one ask?
