Brivio and Rossi are no longer speaking.

I personally believe that's more scene than reality, but... Time will tell.

They should team up Hayden and Edwards at Suzuki. Misery loves company.

Harsh, but

For maximum <strike>extermination</strike> misery, don't forget to invite Ben and Mary to the party!

I agree that it is a very cool bike. But is also hideously ugly. The motorcycling equivalent of James Merrick.

Not to hijack the thread (although that seems almost impossible on here), it is ugly, but it is also a bike looking for a reason to exist. It is too highly strung to be a cruiser (which is what they are marketing it as), it is too expensive to be a naked horsepower bike, it is too fragile and too needy of technical attention to be doing long, continental, iron-butt-style runs, it's fuel tank is too small and consumption too high to be useful for casual touring, which leaves posing as it's forte.

You can potentially use it as a stoplight drag racer, as long as you keep away from Japanese mega-displacement bikes and Ducati/Aprilia V4s, but I see its real role as amazing young boys with the breadth of its rear tyre. And scaring babies.

The Ducati Diavel is the new 'monster'... The word says it all.

BTW, have you guys actually seen it? It's not a big fat bike, it's rather mean and lean compared to most other bikes in that segment.

The only bike that could beat it at its own game is the (sadly discontinued) Yamaha MT-01 imho.

The biggest problem is that Ducati have no experience and no brand recongition in the cruiser segment. Flat trackers, on the other hand, are perfect for lightweight steel frames and air-cooled Desmodue engines. If Ducati had gone after the sportster market, they would have established a customer base in a market that is often aligned with crusiers. Furthermore, 1100cc Ducati flattracker would have made an HD 1200 Sportster look pathetic, and Duc could easily have charged Monster 1100 money without any problems.

Ducati flat tracker u say? Have u seen Roland Sands (i think thats his name) desmosdici flat tracker? Bad ....... ...!

Ducati needs to re-relase the 916, and stop it with these ugly naked bikes.

Naked bikes are Ducati's best sellers since the Monster was introduced 20 years ago.

I thought someone would give me grief for the Apollo, which was only a prototype, but I got blindsided by the Ducati Indiana. :yucky:

It, along with the Morbidelli V8, were my go-to pictures when some started ranting on about 'Italian Style'.

The Diavel has joined that list.

Duc make most of their money on naked bikes.

Ducatii could make all their money selling ........ for all I care. Bring the 916 back.

No doubt, but it should be a 917, and it should be a refined, updated version of the 916. Each subsequent model should continue the perfect the 916, while staying true to the silhouette and styling concept.

BMW should bring back the E30 as an E30b and continue refining their perfect sport sedan. Get rid of the ....... 1-series.

Back to the original topic of Suzuki, I hope Preziosi shows up in their pit box in 2015.

cough the e36 is quite alright too as were the 996/998. It went all downhill with the vanos and a french dude.
